Istanbul Grill — Restaurant in London

Food (8/10): Not the best Turkish food I've had, but being possibly the only Turkish food in the area, its decent. The food seems a bit bland by Turkish standards however it's still tasty. The garlic and chilli sauce complement the food well. I had the chicken shish, the portion was decent for small however it felt a little overpriced at almost £7. For my appetite it was fine. Salad portion is generous too. Next time I would ask them to cook the chicken well done. It tasted just a tad bit rubbery. Very minor point but it was cooked fine.

The food here is Halal.

Price (Avg per head): £7-10 depending on the side orders (drink and chips). Chips are expensive for the portion size. Almost £3 and they are apparently large. In comparison, they are more like small to medium.

Service (10/10): Very nice friendly staff. Food turnaround time was good. Around 10 minutes. They have been under new management since the beginning of 2019.

Atmosphere/ Occasion: Medium sized takeaway/ restaurant. Nice clean. Probably room enough for about 40 people, give or take.

Worst thing is there are severe parking restrictions here until 10pm. You can only park behind the restaurant in 3 bays. Best to do a phone order and turn up to just quickly pick up the food. The parking wardens do the rounds frequently near...

Please visit this restaurant when you drop by heathrow airport the next time. I had a great time and meal there. My friend and I were looking for a dinner place near heathrow airport as we had a one night stay in the airport’s hotel for convenience due to our early flight the next day. We found this restaurant by chance through google and we were so glad we chose the place. The food were decent good but the service made it a 6/5 experience. There was a staff who was very friendly (some might be taken aback but please he’s just being nice) and was just very approachable. He made our time there very enjoyable. And he also respected our time during the meal. He only approached us before and after meal so you don’t have to worry him bugging you during the meal. Plus, I am not a muslim and I still enjoyed the halal meal. I had the chicken burger. It was right off the stove, perfect for a cold 3 degree weather. Honestly, just give this restaurant a try. I'm staying at the Hyatt Place Heathrow and at the time I arrived into England and was looking for food, the options were meager at the hotel. There were two restaurants open within walking distance at the time, and this was one of them. I chose this place because the reviews from the other place were not good at all (and I can get that food on just about every corner in SF where I live). I'm so glad I did choose this place. Friendly, charming, attentive staff and delicious food! I asked what's good: "Everything!" (Good answer!) What should I try? "How about this and this. You want vegetables? You want chips? Sauce? Drink? Eat in or take away? Cash only is ok?" Efficient but quality food. And again: SO FRIENDLY! Freshly grilled kabobs on a charcoal grill. Takes some time to cook, but well worth it!
