Itto — Restaurant in London

Left with a bad taste - quite literally. Sadly would not recommend spending any money here. An unpleasant Thursday eve dining experience, starting with slow service and ending distastefully.

We were seated toward the back and had clear view of the kitchen only to witness plate after plate being microwaved, food sat out for up to 7 minutes with the chef ringing the ‘inaudible to staff’ bell.

I had to complain about the sub-standard main, of which i had two nasty forkfuls of tough and leathery grilled (supposedly) tofu atop unseasoned and overcooked pak choi. The young server politely apologised and took this away. When the bill came my main still remained on there, when questioned the server said he ‘wasn’t allowed’ to remove cost of this.. mind blowing as clear feedback was given & the meal was sent back to the kitchen with no alternative offered... I politely asked for the manager who urgently needs some lessons in customer service who proceeded to argue and try to reason that she’s ‘never had a complaint before’. Ridiculous and unlikely given some of the low reviews I’ve now read. Was told will be ‘let off this time’ a highly presumptive and inappropriate use of term as will never return.

I recommend you to avoid.

Just went to this place with my dad, I really enjoyed it!

Fantastic food. I went for the Itto spicy ramen and it was perrrfect. Really good broth, ingredients were cooked very well, very happy. My dad's dish was a bit too spicy for him (but he's very British, doesn't have a very spicy palate), and they even offered to change it for him, which was very kind. I just suggested he add some lime juice (which the waiters kindly provided) and the spice level was totally okay for him after that.

Excellent service, waiters were polite, friendly and professional. I loved the variety of music they were playing 😂👌(seriously though!).

Also, another reviewer (a month ago) said the mochi wasn't that great. While I can't comment on their experience, I totally disagree. I loved the mochi and thought the presentation was fantastic and classy 👏 I loved the chocolate the most, closely followed by the mango.

(Before you read, please know that we had already started our food before I remembered to take photos) Outstanding! I came here on a Sunday evening with family having walked past many times and always seeing it busy. We sat down and were treated with politeness and well looked after, we ordered drinks (it was happy hour at the time) and asked the waiter for some recommendations. He suggested that we look at the box meals on the menu as they provided the best selection. We duly ordered as recommended (with some starters). The food came out in a timely fashion and honestly we were blown away. Flavours were great and portion sizes were fantastic, I would also recommend getting the boxes on the menu it you can't make your mind up! Overall I could not recommend this place enough and will certainly be coming...
