Everything is far superior by miles than the other average Asian restaurants.
Super delicious food rich in taste and aroma.
English speaking waiters that are alive, attentive, polite and engaging waiters.
The location of the restaurant in a residential area and lack of customer rush makes it look like a back ally Asian takeaway.
Once you come inside and sit down the difference in quality and attention to details is visible and apparent to anyone.
The decor, hygiene, choice of music, the menu booklet, and the pleasant engaging of staff especially Mahad who makes the customer feel valued , and uplifts the mood straight away and is very reassuring that the order and food would be to your liking. Family and friendly atmosphere is an understatement.
No cheap masala box ingredients are used but raw ingredients and spices.
Sad and unhappy the owners have not done the right things to promote themselves and their location more. From the outside before stepping into the restaurant it is diss -encouraging as only empty red chairs are visible.
It’s a shame as it’s amazing food and experience. Perhaps they could look into catering, or wedding and events managing.
Genuinely, sincere and authentic Asian food you would eat again and again and have confidence in inviting other people for it or to it. Would highly recommend. It’s very difficult to critique the food and atmosphere. I’m a very fussy and pay attention to detail in everything is do and say. Hence it usually takes me a lot longer to write a review due to doing justice to the action of feedback.
The price is typically average for an adult in line with any other food place £10-20 for food, drink, sauces, drinks and a sweet dish. But the quality is far superior hands down.
Been a regular customer customer for 2-3 years. Amazing, beautiful and calm place to eat and relax. Recommendation for venue Bring the back cooking restaurant to the front road side open and an ice cream or milkshake section by the front of the shop so the busy end of the Norbery side train station is also available towards this side of norbery.
The food is balanced, the quality and price is balanced, the Asian authentic food culture perfectly balance with the ethos and nuances of the English culture, Even the location of the restaurant is perfectly balanced between Thornton heath and Norbery, so it’s on the border.
Do more to make yourself known and to promote yourself. Been in uk since 1996 and have have eaten at most known Asian restaurants from tooting to Southhall.
Yours is the best I have eaten and visited but as a business you don’t have...
Read moreI booked a table for me and my family here for iftari for 10 people. I drove more than 40 mins to open my fast. When I got there it was so over crowded to even get to our table it was impossible. I waited 5 mins to reach our table. I had my children with me who were also fasting and to our surprise there wasn't even dates on our table or drinks to open our fast. When we asked for more plates because they gave us less they refused saying you are only allowed 1 plate each. Which is ridiculous when you have a big family. There was no privacy for each family who are there to open their fast in the Holy month of Ramadan. I've never seen such disgusting setting for iftari in my life! So disorganised! We went to read Maghrib prayer and came back to my family for them to say that they still haven't ate anything because everything was finished by the time they got to it! When I went to one of the waiters to ask why this has happened he was being very RUDE saying it's not our fault the food is coming I waited over 20 mins and still there was no food! This is the first time I've been to a buffet style iftari where there's no food! When I started taking pictures of the empty platters the waiter started getting rude that why I was doing this! I did this so no other family should go through this! Everyone was complaining about the lack of food when we have all have paid a lot money plus a pre deposit. They gave me my bill as soon as I got there and it had wrong charges on. When I went to the counter the guy said to me you're bill is wrong. But even still they didn't minus my deposit! This iftari was the most embarrassing and shameful one I've had so far and I had guests with me who didn't even eat any food! Terrible service! RUDE staff! NO food! Over priced! NO parking! SHAMEFUL! You should only book how many people you can cater to and not over book!
PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS! I WOULDN'T...
Read moreHad to write this review out of principle as the amount isn't really the issue.
Apparently they 'have' to charge a bag fee for all collection orders.
Not advised when making the order over the phone.
20p per 'paper' bag. I was invoiced for 2 bags despite only being given 1.
When I told them I have bags just outside in the car and don't need a paper bag, the server said they have to charge.
I pointed out that they need to communicate this at the time of ordering but he didn't seem to see the issue
Have been coming here for many years since they opened as my family have always liked the food... The service has always been good... But this was disappointing.
Edit: yes I was refunded 20p as I was given 1 bag instead of 2. I wrote I was Invoiced for 2 bags, which is true. I did not write that I paid for 2 bags as you had only provided 1 anyway.
Besides, I did not want any bags.
I asked why I could not use my own bag and was told you had to charge and hence was still charged 20p.
There is no law that says the customer has to pay for a bag if they don't want one. And the law you have quoted applies to plastic bags, not paper bags in England.
What is dishonest is the fact that you are forcing a bag charge onto a customer who has asked to use their own bag, but the server said this was not possible.
You will lose alot more customers over such a dishonest and sneaky practice.
Honestly, such a distasteful, immature and ignorant response. Re re-read my review and you will understand what the issue is.
What you 'should' have done was refund 40p and taken the bag that I did...
