The first time I came with my brother I had a great experience and the food was amazing, however this time was incredibly disappointing. I had booked a table for me and my partner to eat for my birthday and it took over an 1hr and 20 minutes to get our food. I work in a Michelin star restaurant and I am very understanding of the results of a kitchen overwhelmed with orders, however this wasn’t that. A family of three were able to come in 20 minutes after we had ordered and : sit, order, eat, pay and leave whilst we had to wait an additional 30 minutes to receive our food. Another three couples who had come in after us were served before us. Again, I understand not every business has a perfect and orders may sometimes have mishaps especially when there are takeaways as well as sit in orders, however this wasn’t that. When our food finally came we just asked to have it boxed to take home due to how unwelcome we felt. I then expressed my grievances with one of the waitresses who was very polite and understanding when I told her that due the wait, we wouldn’t be paying, as again, I work in hospitality and as a rule of thumb making any sit down customer wait upwards of an hour to eat their food deserves some sort of compensation to satisfy the customer. However the second waitress I spoke to when trying to explain why we weren’t going to be paying was incredibly rude and told us we could have ‘at least left the pizza’ as if we didn’t wait the time that we did and miss out on the plans we had. She then told us to just take the food and not come back. I understand that it was a busy night and it was possibly understaffed, but that is...
Read moreWe arrived 10min early to our booking, we had been asked to wait outside which was absolutely fine, but I was a little disappointed, having seen when our table had cleared how long it took staff to call us back in. In the end I've became impatient and decided to just walk back in, we were directed to that very table that wasn't yet cleaned for us, so they had to quickly wipe it, when we were already sat down, it was a busy night so i understand.
When it comes to the quality of the food, I've only ordered pizzas from here before, which are amazing btw, but this time we wanted to treat ourselves to something more special. I've really enjoyed my grilled cheese starter, although been really disappointed with the few slices of slightly stale Tesco brown sourdough bloomer, a bit food truck vibes here and not £50+ for two dinner. Anyway, the main I've ordered been a little small for the price, I wasn't sure if the octopuses I've ordered were a little overcooked, as i haven't had them in a very long time, or if the sauce was little over seasoned which slightly overpowered the flavour of them. My partners risotto wasn't very sticky, like the arborio rice usually is, I've tasted it and found it a little on the undercooked side to me, but it was tasty and, she enjoyed it.
So yeah, I'm a little...
Read moreHello, we were in London as part of a study trip and came across this restaurant because it was right on our daily walk. Visually it really appealed to us and the positive reviews and the pictures available on the internet convinced us and so we decided to test “Sorrento In” ourselves. As soon as we entered, we noticed the extremely friendly and personable service employee who immediately took care of our order. The choice fell on two pizzas (Parma and Margherita) and a pasta dish with seafood. All dishes were served to the table very quickly and were of sufficient portion size. Both the pizzas and the pasta dish (gnocchi) were particularly well prepared and gave us great pleasure. The Parma pizza in particular deserves a positive mention (I've rarely eaten better pizza) and is highly recommended. This restaurant is definitely worth a...
