Ordered from Katsu Shoku tonight.
Got some spring rolls, a chicken basil and chilli pad Thai and the chicken meegoreng.
Was really pleased with the spring rolls and the meegoreng was gorgeous with tasty chicken.
“Pad thai” unfortunately was the worst we’ve had. There was no chicken at all, no peanuts and no spring onions - instead it was filled with some very odd veg (including potatoes!?) . Tried to power through but unfortunately did not taste great and left most of it tasted incredibly bitter. Only connection to pad Thai seemed to be flat noodles.
Edit:
Hi Katsu Shoku. I have been consistent in reviews and given you a 2 out of 5 (based on food quality) on both platforms. Just eat ratings are also based on delivery time etc. Hence why it averages out to a 4.
It’s sad you’ve not taken the review on board as it is intended to ensure you improve. I think I’ve been fair giving a 2 star review and if I wanted to go out of my way to make you look bad publicly I would not have highlighted that your other food tasted great. As you can see below in the “chicken pad Thai” it contains no chicken, no peanuts, no spring onions as described on the menu. It clearly has items not in a chicken pad Thai e.g potato and did not taste like pad Thai so unfortunately the only conclusion here is the dish ordered is missing (the only option you can select on Just Eat) and I received something else which was not a chicken pad Thai.
Wish the best of luck to you and your team and applaud all their hard work. However, it simply went a bit wrong here. If you can’t acknowledge that and look to take it on board then I fear that the hard work of your team may go to waste (which seems to be a consistent approach to reviewers when things aren’t...
Read moreEver stumbled across something/somewhere/someone so good that you almost don't want to share it with anyone in case it gets overused or too busy?? That's how I feel about Katsu Shoku....
Quick review - fantastic food/people/price Those wanting a more in depth review see below...
Stranded away form home and in a hotel on a day I forgot my wallet, I managed to scramble just under £9 and literally next door was Katsu Shoku. Now; the menu is big (wanted to say extensive but might get misread as expensive) and could've chosen many things but decided its all in the name, so ordered a Katsu Curry.. Picked up 10 mins later and retired to room 101 to eat.
Now, if you're like me, as soon as I've eaten good food I get a massive urge to sleep, but on this occasion, I needed to stay awake to post this review. So thanks to the good people at KS for one of the best take away meals I think I've ever had (and on a Monday when at most restaurants the sous chef is temporarily promoted). Hope you get busier as the lockdowns ease, and that the next time I'm local to here I have to queue due to your popularity.
To summarise
Food very tasty and hot, value for money outstanding, friendliness...
Read moreThis is honestly the best takeaway I’ve ever had. I’ve had a lot of takeaways but nothing is as good as Katsu Shoku. We ordered from there on chance about a month ago and have ordered so many times since. The quality is amazing every single time, food is always hot, portion sizes are generous making it good value for the price. Everything is fresh and well made, and for us has always been delivered in very reasonable time especially considering how busy they must be at peak times given how good the food is.
The meegoreng is fresh, delicious and perfectly cooked. The Katsu bao is just amazing whatever filling you choose. The Panko squid rings are always so tender and never chewy like some squid rings. The wings are a great size, proper good quality chicken, crispy with a nice amount of sauce. The sticky chilli chips are a particular favourite of our household, so yummy. The Katsu is also fab - basically, everything is amazing and would recommend to anyone.
Overall, a 5 star restaurant with some of the best food around. It’s the only place our household orders from now - nothing compares to Katsu...
