Absolutely loved it. Such a wonderful addition to the area and you can really tell how much care and love has gone into both the food and the service!

We ordered a mix of dishes and every single one of them was outstanding.

The miso glazed roast aubergine came as a starter but could easily be a main dish - it was an incredibly generous portion. The vegetables were cooked to absolute perfection, and the miso glaze added such depth of flavour.

The kimchi jeon was honestly one of the best I’ve had. I always think this dish is a real test of a Korean kitchen’s skill. It was perfectly crispy on the outside, yet soft and tender on the inside, and not greasy at all. It tasted like something homemade, in the best possible way.

The kimchi jjigae was another highlight for me personally. I rarely finish this dish elsewhere because of how spicy it is, but they made it just right. The tofu was soft and silky, the pork belly was beautifully cooked, and the broth was perfectly balanced - spicy enough to warm you, but not so overpowering that it masked the other flavours.

We also tried both soy garlic and yangnyeom fried chicken and they were easily some of the best Korean fried chicken I’ve had in London. The batter was thin and crispy, the chicken itself was juicy and high quality, and the sauces were flavourful without being overwhelming.

The bulgogi was also exceptional - thinly sliced, tender beef cooked just right, without any of the chewiness you sometimes get elsewhere.

On top of all this, we were served some complimentary starters and dumplings, which was such a lovely and generous touch!

The owner was so warm, friendly and attentive. It really makes such a difference when you can see someone genuinely cares about their customers and their business. The team who served us was also extremely polite and helpful.

(We also managed to break a glass and they were incredibly kind about it 😬 They kept asking if we were okay - another sign of a place that values people over perfection.)

Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu. I really hope it gets all the love and support...

We had the absolute pleasure of dining at Korea Hero UK, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by a team of friendly, smiling, and professional staff who made us feel genuinely welcome. Everyone was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, offering great recommendations and answering our questions with enthusiasm and insight.

A special mention to Linda, whose attentiveness and charm added a personal touch to our visit. She went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Absolutely a true star!

The location is spectacular, right by the river, offering beautiful views that make this a perfect spot to enjoy a relaxing meal. Whether you’re soaking up the sun or simply watching the world go by, it’s the ideal setting for a peaceful and scenic dining experience.

As for the food absolutely divine! Every dish was bursting with flavor, prepared with authenticity and care. It’s clear the kitchen knows its craft, delivering a true taste of Korea. From the rich and savory stews to the perfectly marinated meats and vibrant side dishes, everything was fresh, bold, and delicious. This is Korean cuisine at its best.

If you’re in Kingston and looking for a place to enjoy exceptional food in a fantastic riverside setting, Korea Hero UK is the place to go. It’s easily one of the best ways to spend a beautiful day in town. Highly recommended we’ll definitely be...

Me and my husband recently went to try out this place and we were happy and full. We love K food ever since and for someone who lives in New Malden where a number of Korean restaurants are set in, we can say that we can include this in the list of our go-to good places in Kingston town center.

I believe they can still improve their food as they just recently opened. My husband ordered the Kimchi Fried rice (2/5) and said that it's too plain, and Yangngeom Chicken (4.5/5) the flavor and crunch are spot on we loved it.

For me, I ordered the Spicy Chicken Bibimbap (5/5) I really enjoyed that it's sizzling hot and you get the crunch of the rice at the bottom and flavor-wise it's really good. LA Galbi (4.5/5) it's the taste we always expect every time so we enjoyed it.

The let down for us is the Kimchi Jiggae (2/5) which is my favorite stew. I find it too sour and did not get the richness of the soup that I am looking for.

Perfect (5/5) for the staff especially to Simren (not sure if I spell it right) who took our order and served our food. She's very helpful and friendly and made our time there worthwhile.

I can say that they can be a bit more generous with the portions but also considering the location where you get the view of the Thames river I can say that it's just fair enough.

To answer the question if we are coming back? Yes, we will!

PS. photos are not complete and we already started eating when I...

Located along the scenic Riverside Walk in Kingston upon Thames, Korea Hero truly lives up to its name, not just for its delicious food, but for the exceptional hospitality we received. As newcomers to Korean cuisine, we were a little unsure of what to expect. Thankfully, Sanath, our server, made all the difference. With genuine warmth and remarkable patience, he walked us through the entire menu, explaining each dish with care and enthusiasm. His recommendation, the spicy chicken Bibimbap, was spot on. The dish was exquisite: beautifully balanced, full of flavour, and impressively hot right down to the last bite. What truly elevated our experience was Sanath’s attentiveness. Our food arrived promptly, drinks were refilled without delay, and the table was cleared seamlessly between courses. It’s rare to find service that feels both professional and heartfelt, and Sanath delivered just that. Having dined at several restaurants along the Kingston riverside, we can confidently say that Korea Hero stands out, not only for the quality of its food but for the outstanding service that makes you feel genuinely cared for. A must-visit for anyone curious about Korean cuisine or simply looking for a memorable dining experience.

It's a Korean-inspired restaurant in Kingston. Small but good location just next to the river, food price is reasonable. However, as a Korean, I am a bit unsure about the authenticity as they don't know how to write Korean properly on a menu. We had 육개장, 깐풍기 and Egg fried rice. 육개장(spicy beef stew) - The portion of the food is generous, tastes OK, value for the money. 깐풍기 - I was not fond of the sauce. The batter was rather thick. 계란볶음밥(Egg fried rice) - the rice they use is not Korean rice, but that's fine as it's hard to get and expensive in the UK. But it was too oily and covered with Donkatsu sauce which was not a good mix, barely had any eggs in it too. Not worth it for that price. Overall, they are not bad bad, but I wouldn't say I can bring my Korean friends here. The menu was a bit limited, too, but again, they need to develop the food properly they have on their menu first before adding anything new. Also, they should play better music there as I heard Christmas song(in April!) and the same random popsong 3rd time repeatedly when I was there for one meal.
