This place could be really good but is let down by its food. The service is friendly and interior is nice. However, tapas is quite poor. Tapas in London generally tends to be bad so I avoid it and I went here and was reminded exactly why I avoid it. The fried foods were fine but nothing special. Prawns were a bit overcooked and such a standard flavour. Padron peppers were easy but that is a very hard dish to get wrong. The big let down was the paella. Took ages to come (30 mins) and when arrived seemed like a ready meal from Asda which had been put in the oven. It had very clearly been baked and was not made fresh. The rice was stodgy and tasteless and the whole thing was really poor quality. If you really fancy going here, just eat a few small plates which are safe. Definitely do not get the paella or other typical but more complicated spanish dishes as I don’t think they’ll be good. The other thing with this place, is i find it’s overpriced and poor value for money when you taste and look at what you get. The drinks were okay but I also had a weird cocktail which I didn’t especially love and only had it as the bartender insisted it was incredible and it was just weird. I haven’t been back and wouldn’t go back.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Unforgettable Spanish Dining Experience at La Tasquería My wife and I recently had the pleasure of dining at La Tasquería with our dear friends, and what a truly exceptional experience it was! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxed — the kind of place that makes you feel instantly welcome and sets the tone for an evening to remember. The service was impeccable, and a special mention must go to Miguel, our waiter for the evening. He was everything you could hope for — friendly, professional, and effortlessly attentive without ever being intrusive. His warm personality and knowledge of the menu really elevated the whole experience. The food was outstanding — perfectly portioned, beautifully presented, and bursting with authentic Spanish flavours. Each dish felt thoughtfully crafted, and the balance between creativity and tradition was spot-on. It’s rare to find a restaurant that delivers on all fronts — atmosphere, service, and cuisine — but La Tasquería absolutely does. We left smiling, satisfied, and already talking about our next visit. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a genuine Spanish dining experience with heart, flavour, and style.

I had high hopes for Las Fuentes, but unfortunately I left disappointed. While the staff were welcoming and helpful, the food was unfortunately not worth the price. The calamari was unfortunately rubbery and flaccid, with no crisp. The ham croquettes were stodgy and sticky, with little flavour. The potato, chorizo and chilli was the saving grace. The potato was cooked well, and the garlic, tomato and chilli combined well in the sauce for a good flavour. The paella was almost a hit as well, except the chicken was gristly, and chewy from being over cooked. The flavour was good but there was not much depth or complexity to it. Unfortunately the prices are much too high for the value here, particularly for a tapas experience. The portions should be smaller, with a low cost, so that more of the menu can be sampled and shared. I would not recommend coming here until they’ve made improvements to their menu and recipes, particularly as Coulsdon has an excellent tapas restaurant a short drive away. However, if you’re in the area or live locally, it may be worth the trip if you don’t wish to travel further afield

I visited Las Fuentes a few years ago and my experience was very nice. Unfortunately I can’t say the same about my yesterday’s visit. A couple of my friends and I had dinner there. The atmosphere was nice, but nothing else… We ordered two glasses of rose wine ( we also double checked with the waiter to make sure the wine was the rose wine, as it wasn’t clear from the menu. The menu just said ‘semi sweet’) and he brought us two glasses of white instead. Then we ordered two separate seafood paellas. The waiter brought us one paella and the rest of the food that we ordered. We were waiting for one more paella to come, so we could all start eating together. However after 15 mins of waiting we asked the waiter where was our dish. After checking with the chef he said that they had put two paellas in one dish. However we never asked for it to be in one dish. That was very disappointing, because of we knew that from the beginning, we would start eating straight away and not waiting until the food went cold. Both waiters who were serving us didn’t apologised for their mistakes even once. They also never checked on us to see whether we were happy with everything while we were there. Food. Unfortunately my food wasn’t very nice (potatoes with chorizo and scallops). My friend’s paella wasn’t very tasty either. It was very tasteless. Big disappointment! In the end when we asked for the bill, I asked to take the leftovers of my food home. The waiter said that he would charge me 50p for the box. I said that I was very surprised to hear that they are charging for boxes (never came across of this before!), for which I received a reply from the waiter saying that other restaurants are charging for the tap water and they don’t, which I thought wasn’t a professional answer at all. Then the waiter said that because they made a mistake with our paellas he would take off the service charge from the bill (which is optional anyway!) and he wouldn’t charge me for the box (50p), which I found very petty and dismissive. We didn’t want to ruin our evening, so we just paid the bill and left. We definitely won’t be back to this place. It changed for the worse. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to visit...

Booked table for 2 at 19:30 New Year’s Eve and were told we need to come to the restaurant to pay a £10 pp deposit which I did.

We arrived on the day at just before 19:30 and was greeted and given a raffle ticket which entitled us to one free drink at the bar.

Around 20:00 we asked if we could be seated so we could start our dinner and were taken to our table.

There was a set menu of 5 starters on our table which rang warning bells as I thought where is the menu? It turned out it was going to be a buffet. This fact was never mentioned when making the booking, had we been aware we would’ve gone somewhere else.

The starters eventually arrived and they were nothing special and lukewarm.

After asking serval times the buffet opened at around 21:40 and was basically all tables go up at once and queue.

Once we finally sat down with our dinner somewhat around 2 hours after our booking the food was again lukewarm.

In order to get drinks it required asking every time which wasn’t a major problem, the problem was when receiving the bill it was £60 per head and they had the cheek to charge a service when we actually served ourselves.

Finally they now have same sex toilets which are ok if your a man but if your a lady be prepared for piss all over the toilet seats, if they want to continue with this then I would suggest the toilets are checked and cleaned at least every...

Hit and miss food and hit and miss service. We go here occasionally. The last time we went we got seated immediately and started looking at the menus. After 25 minutes no one had come to take our orders, this despite the waiters continually walking past our table and refusing to make eye contact.

To pass the time I counted how many staff I could see on the floor and in the kitchen - 18!

We eventually grabbed a waiter, he was impatient, patronising and border line rude, after the long wait this made me angry and I spoke to him quite rudely myself which I hate doing. When the food came it was good but I was annoyed by now so didn't enjoy it as much as I should.

The most recent visit was better but still not without problems; we were seated and served quickly, however when our order came it was brought to my companions but not me. After five minutes I still had not been served, quite awkward sitting there watching other people eat! We had to remind them about my meal, when they brought it over they seemed to be genuinely apologetic.

The food was generally good, however my fish was slightly over cooked, one persons meat dish was very hot and hard - it seemed to have been microwaved - and anothers meat dish was very chewy.

We'll keep going here but we always wonder what will...
