The Pear Tree — Restaurant in London

Sadly we left very disappointed, was standing at the bar for close to 5 minutes before being able to order. Then a further 55 minutes elapsed before our order arrived. I should point out that the bar was largely empty and I saw only 2 orders served before us. We hadn't realised the our light bite order would be delivered with the main course. As for the food it was patchy at best, the garlic bread was cooked in oil rather than butter, the mushrooms were very crispy indeed maybe to crispy but worse of all was the Cumberland sausage and BBQ sauce. These were not Cumberland sausages at all but basic pork sausage, the BBQ sauce just drizzled on. The main course, the beef burger was good although the sauce combinations could have been better. The sauce had also soaked into the bun leaving it soggy. The mixed grill, the steak was slightly over cooked but bearable, the gammon was ok but the chicken moist and tender. The sausage however was tough and fork resistant. So all in all I don't think I could honestly recommend...

It was the first time coming here and it will be the last, some of the staff were rude and dismissive. We came for my aunt's birthday, we all ordered food and saw on the menu and was told by staff that the kitchen closes at 9. Everyone's food arrived and we realised my mum hadn't got her food, we went back to the bar and was told that we didn't order her food so we asked if we could place her order. They told us the kitchen was closed. So I said the kitchen closes at 9pm it's 8:45pm so how can it be closed, they reinforced the fact that the kitchen was closed and was blatantly rude about it and then the lady proceeded to continue staring at our table on and off throughout the evening whilst whispering to another person. Not impressed, glad I don't live around there and will never step foot in there...

We had a bad experience a few months back and had avoided the Pear Tree so came back. My advice is go there for a drink in a nice atmosphere but don't bother with the food. The kitchen is sublet to some Korean BBQ burger brand on JustEat and that takes priority over pub orders. Our food was so bad I was embarrassed to take it back. 1 of 3 dishes was part inedible, another wasn't what we ordered and the 3rd was actually ok. We used to get a lot for our money but not now. After knowing how they run their kitchen and 2 really bad experiences with the food I'm reluctant to go back. I just wish they'd actually serve the food from the JustEast restaurant that they sublet the kitchen to as it looks awesome in the menu! Pretty disappointing as we really...
