Came to Lamar lounge yesterday and it was a terrible experience.
We had made a booking for New Years Eve at 20:00. When we arrived the guy with the board says "have you called to confirm your booking?" We had an email confirmation stating "all done your booking is confirmed". He said "didn't you receive a text message and call from us ?" We didn't receive either and the email clearly states the table is confirmed. Man with the board was already moaning and rather unwelcoming. Didn't even bother to say "Hello" or even smile. Off to a bad start although the security man was very pleasant.
We got to the table and the manager/waiter said we need the table back at 21:30. This is fair enough as it is New Years Eve but it's the tone and the way this message was communicated was inappropriate. You just can't speak to paying customers like this.
We are sat down and then given menus. We ordered the Beyond Burger with some other starters. Then 5 minutes later they said it's not available. Then we ordered Falafel wraps, Spicy potatos wraps, some chips, Halloumi and a couple of Pizzas. In the menu the Falafal plate states it comes with hummus which the Falafals didn't have. We didn't bother to query this as the waiter wasn't really interested in serving us. He would just try to avoid us or while taking our order he would just talk to his colleauge. The Falafals were tasteless and very dry. A large plate of sub standard Falafals for £7 is outrages for an industrial estate in Perivale. The rest of the food was dry and tasteless. Pizzas weren't great either.
We also ordered shisha which was good. On to the bill. We didn't ask for the bill but at 21:10 the waiter just came and slapped it down on the table. Again, I understand it's New Year's Eve but there wasn't anyone waiting for our table and we still had 20 minutes to finish our food. They had addedd two extra portion of fries so we asked them to take this off. It took them quite a while to correct this mistake. No apology was made for this error on their part.
Overall, this place isn't great. The customer service is awful. All the staff are very unwelcoming and not friendly at all. At this price point I would expect a certain level of service and food. This place just doesn't meet that level. I would not recommend this place and neither...

They're reputation upholds itself with good hospitality where you can see there is someone overlooking everyone to ensure customer satisfaction. With my experience you're not waiting around for someone to come to you, they'll know pretty quickly, even in a busy environment. I have never left Lamar dissatisfied, I've always been welcomed as a guest. Something to mention, the bathrooms also have a wash pipe which is great for cleansiness. The atmosphere is perfect for you to be imitate with your friends or family. Foods amazing, the drinks are genourously satisfying, staff are amazing, and the shisha is also good and the location is in Park Royal. Good for people who drive but a little walk from the station if your coming on public transport, fortunately, I drive but my friend walked from the station which she said wasn't too bad. Read moreVisited a couple of times in the last few weeks. Having said that, im no stranger to Lamars, as I used to visit a lot when it first opened many years back. Very nice owners.
Food was nice, good quality. Lamars have gone down the premium 'look and feel' route and this also reflects in the premium prices. This is fine.
The only bit of feedback I'd give is the service is too slow. The staff seem friendly enough but need to be a little more attentive. Difficult to get the attention of service staff and flag them down. Ordering food can easily take 30-40 minutes or more (food for a couple of people). Drinks like cofffee and tea can also take a very long time. (25 mins the last time I visited 18/06/2022)
Premium look and feel and being instagrammable is fine, premium pricing is also fine, but you have to deliver a premium experience for your customers to match. On my last 2 visits over the last few weeks, I left feeling a little underwhelmed. Its also very tight for space. Can get very squashy.
