Now did I take great pictures of this place? Perhaps not but since I’ll be going back at least on a weekly basis I’ll update that soon enough. I think the pastel de nata is one of mankind’s finest inventions- I love a dessert that’s also egg so I was very excited to hear this place had a good one. When I entered however I was met by a beautiful pastry case stuffed with lots of beautiful things so I also got two other pastries. I LOVED the service because the guy was truly not happy anyone was in there which is fair and I greatly respect how he answered my questions even if all he told me about the other pastries was ‘sponge’ and ‘coconut’. It was really all I needed to know. Cost of three was only six pounds and it was a damn steal because not only was the pastel de nata flaky and eggy greatness but coconut and sponge really came to play. The sponge turned out to be a heavenly creation with custard smothered over it, coconut around the sides and a cherry on top. I really don’t know how to describe the coconut one differently than he did but it was maybe my favorite of the three. My photo doesn’t do them justice but currently this is my favorite London bakery. They had two other shops it looked like so I’ll have to check those out too when I’m not I’m working my way through everything else in the pastry case. Anyway, go here. Get the sponge. And the coconut.

Lisboa Patisserie became my favourite portuguese food place in London. As a Portuguese, coming inside the establishment felt just like going to my local patisserie where I live in Portugal. For some, it might look old-fashioned, but I come to believe the atmosphere and the aesthetic are one of the boldest ideas Lisboa Patisserie sells. The white coloured bulbs, the vitrines stacked with pastries, all of them looking yellowish coming from the eggs, the milk, the butter and flour, the trays stacking upon each other with "Bolos de Rei". The cheap chairs, tables. The white washed tiles... The sound of the water jet coming off the industrial espresso machine, the sound of ceramic espresso cups clashing, the banging of the portafilter banging on the knockbox, the ambiguous portuguese conversations happening all around... I tried the pastel nata, and they were average tasting - not bad. I would recommend having the classic combo pastel de nata and espresso at the bar or sitting at a table having "jesuita" served alongside a "galão" while you appreciate the atmosphere - the taste of their pastries are nothing without it.

Looking for one of the best Pastel de Nata in London? Lisboa Patisserie is your place! I had two, and both were absolutely delicious.

Before visiting Lisbon in 2015, I regularly had a little sweet thing at one of my favourite coffee shops in London called Portuguese Tarts. I always liked them, but since I have been to Lisbon, I realised that they are nowhere near as delicious as the real thing, Pastel de Nata.

Without hesitation I embarked on a journey to discover the best Pastel de Nata in London. So far, I have found some decent ones, The Coffee Jar in Camden for example has a pretty good variety. But today I went to Lisboa Patisserie in Notting Hill and I think, I probably found the best Pastel de Nata you can get here. This doesn't mean that I'm not continuing my quest to taste more of them, but really, the two I had at Lisboa Patisserie were heavenly, tasty, authentic - and it will be hard for any place to top this.

But it is not only the food. The shop looks simple, and in that this place also reminded me of some of the tascas, traditional no-frills restaurants, in Lisbon city centre. By having a large blue and white tile painting of Lisbon on the wall, Lisboa Patisserie added to this feeling. For a moment I probably almost thought I was back in Lisbon.

Lisboa Patisserie is a busy place, so it could be hard to find a free table. But the good news is that you do not really need a table anyway. Just get some sweet treats for takeaway and enjoy them on the go, it doesn't make them less delicious. I will definitely be back to sample some of their other...

My husband and I went into this Patisserie for a little cake on the go while exploring this area of London. We are both exempt from wearing a mask and got challenged about it as soon as we walked in. That was the first problem. I don't mind people asking if we can wear our masks nicely (we then tell them we're exempt and they're fine) but this woman said it very rudely and she was totally unwelcoming. I then informed her very politely that we were both exempt and my husband said it at the same as me. She then had the audacity to say "well, no you still need to wear a mask"...WHAT?!?!?!?! I replied "no you don't have to wear a face mask if you're exempt" and she repeated that we do need to wear a mask. We haven't worn a mask the whole of the pandemic due to our disability and this is the worst treatment we have ever had. I said straight away "no worries, we'll take our business elsewhere" and left. I was very very upset by our treatment in there. Lucky I was with my husband otherwise I probably would have run out there crying. We are very considerate of other peoples space as we are not wearing masks and we're always very polite in explaining to people that we are exempt but this treatment was completely discriminatory and I will write this review EVERYWHERE I can. They will never ever get our business....
