I've been skating this park and versions of it for 20 odd years now. I've seen it change mostly for the better but some issues still persist.
The park suffers from I call the runway effect in the street area. Basically because the layout is designed with higher platforms you essentially skate downhill. Great, you don’t need to push but it encourages bombing and it doesn’t work very well on the way back up with a high number of skaters. For those been around long enough you will know what was once known as playstation skatepark used to have a brilliant long mini. In the same general area we now have a higher midi essentially the same height as the bowl next to it which to me defeats its purpose. Please bring back the mellow mini, it was awesome! I was able to learn a lot of stuff on that, not so much with this latest one. Also that back area in general could be better put to use in terms of space, there are just tables and couches etc laying about. Staff friendliness is improving but the vibe is still: we’re in a crew and you ain’t in it😅
Overall the park is good, the facilities have improved and the park has a lot of options so it makes for a decent afternoon especially when it's raining but more work...
Read moreI highly recommend NOT visiting this skatepark. The reasons for which, I will detail as follows:
Firstly, the customer service from the staff is especially poor; the have a bad attitude, are unfriendly, unhelpful and generally behave like they wish you weren’t there. This attitude continues even after you’ve given them money.
Secondly, the price the covers little more than the roof you skate beneath. This brings us to the matter of the skatepark’s condition; evidently, it is poorly maintained, extremely slippery and in desperate need of resurfacing. In fact, some of the wood is in such an awful condition that should you fall or slide along it, you shouldn’t be surprised if you come out of it with a limb full of splinters, even on areas of skin protected by clothing.
Finally, the park has little to no flow. This, in combination with the absolute lack of vibe and comradery and the plethora of other issues (disgusting toilets) makes Bay 66 a dreadful place to throw away a £5 for 2 hours of time that could be better spent elsewhere.
Do not send your kids here. Bay 66 is misrepresentation of what...

Missing stars because the staff don’t give you the time of day, they are quite rude. Maybe I just had a negative experience, it was probably just a one off. I skateboarded here once and never been here again. It is full of posh teenagers or toddlers most of the time.
Brooklyn Beckham has been seen here. Definitely a spot for teenagers to try really hard to seem cool and edgy. I would avoid. Scruffy jeans, gold chains, and AirPods are the current style here.
I would say this place is only good for toddlers/young children because there are exclusive sessions, so they will not be knocked off. Also lots of other parents standing around watching their children or helping them maintain balance. It’s a good place to start out because there are some easy ramps.
There is a toilet, a café and a reception. You can buy skateboard paraphernalia here too; grips, stickers, wheels etc.
If you are a keen skateboarder thinking of checking this place out, you’ll probably prefer Meanwhile gardens or South Bank. But this place is most suitable...
