I visited the multi-award winning Little Green Dragon Ale House on a late Saturday afternoon. There was a great selection of cask ales & ciders to choose from, (which constantly change.) Also plentiful were craft beers, gin's, wine & soft drinks. Bar snacks were available (& board games!) The interior is rustic, open brick walls, clean, with a welcoming vibe. There were small tables to the front & back of the premises. The atmosphere was great. As close to full as you could probably get on this sunny weekend afternoon, in this 'smallish' but well formed micro pub, full of chatter & good humour. By the time our table of four departed, we had tried all of the four cask ales available & one of the ciders. The service was knowledgeable, efficient & congenial. All in all a real boost to the area (which, whilst not a wasteland for real ale drinkers, is certainly not blessed!) & I can fully understand why they are so popular with...
Read moreI cannot recommend this pub enough! I'm not a very frequent pub goer, and I often struggle with ordering drinks with no idea what any of them are: The green dragon has a menu board (sorry if this is normal, I haven't seen it before) with the drink, what it's like and what colour it is. This was so helpful! I found my first ever beer that I actually liked (cherry & almond, vibes of sour & ice-cream)!
They also had an electronic bus timetable board to let you know when the next bus was coming so you know if you need to get a move on or if you have time for another drink. More places should get one of these, it's a genius idea!
The highlight of the night had to be the fact it was open mic night and it turns out there are a lot of great musicians around and we were treated to a wide range of music, both covers and originals. The vibes were great, the people were nice and you could easily hear each other talk! It's a little bit far from home but I'll definitely have to make the trek to Enfield again to visit the little...
