I have quickly become a Mad Dough regular! I haven’t yet had the pleasure of eating in, however I have to admit I have ordered many times through Uber eats; even two nights in a row most recently! As someone who suffers with serious allergies (nuts, mustard, celery, rapeseed oil amongst others), it is difficult to find restaurants with the patience and care required for handling allergen friendly orders as well as actually HAVING allergen friendly ingredients. However, the process with the wonderful people at Mad Dough has been seemless! The lovely man on the phone is always very patient with me every time I call to double check the ingredients, and the in-house delivery service ensures the food comes to you HOT, DELICIOUS and in a timely manner. The many who delivers the pizza has a lovely and energy and is always so smiley and funny! Mad Dough have certainly got customer service down to a T, and you really do feel taken care of!
As well as wonderful customer service, the pizza is actually insanely good! I have not tasted a good dough like theirs in YEARS. It’s soft, fluffy, and with that perfect slightly chewy texture, yet somehow remains crisp on the outside! Whew, even the next day it still tastes good. The ratios of tomato, mozzarella & toppings are perfect and the ingredients are CLEAN - they only use olive oil which is a huuuge plus considering most restaurants nowadays use rapeseed oil because it’s cheaper! (Which is good for them, but super hard for people like me who are allergic, to find somewhere to eat)!
Mad Dough, thank you for giving me an option of food when I am too busy to cook, or just fancy a pizza night. It might sound hyperbolic, but it really does change your quality of life when you have so many allergies that you have to cook EVERYTHING from scratch. I now have an alternative option for the nights when I simply don’t have the time or energy to cook from scratch! Thank you, I am looking forward to my next margherita &...
Read moreWe placed our order last night around 7pm via Uber eats. The delivery window was between 7.15 and 7.55. When there was no update from the app I called the restaurant at 7.40 and been told that we still have 15 min for our delivery deadline. I called back at 7.55 again to ask if our order was coming, the gentleman on the phone said, no it’ll be 10 more minutes for the pizza and perhaps another 10 minutes for the delivery. When we told him that, this is unacceptable as we already been waiting for almost an hour, he ASKED US if we would like to cancel our order and we said yes. Unfortunately for us, HE DIDN’T SAY THAT WE WOULD BE CHARGED FOR THE ORDER ANYWAY! We didn’t know that we have been charged for the pizzas (£32)until this morning until we saw the receipt from the Uber eats. Without having the right information, no one in their right minds would cancel an order knowing they will have to pay for it anyway. I contacted Uber eats and I contacted my bank for a fraud dispute and I will complain about this place in every social platform. —- Somehow right after submitting this review, Uber eats refunded the money (even though this morning they refused to do so).
I’m happy that we received a refund but this doesn’t change the fact that they ruined our Friday night and better part of our Saturday morning....
Read moreDecided to cast the net a little bit further from home. Came across this place and was instantly amused by the name. Ordered two pizzas, a milkshake and a little pot of dipping sauce. We added extras to both pizzas and were very impressed by the quality and the amount of extra toppings put on. The dough and tomato sauce were in themselves full of flavour, not just a bland background for the toppings. Cooked in a wood fire oven, nicely crisp round the edges. Dipping sauce came in a nice, decent sized pot and was exactly what it said on the label - garlicky, spicy and creamy. Milkshake was thick, sweet and creamy - very nice choice to finish your meal. We cannot fault the taste and quality of the food, well worth it. We might have to visit the shop in person to pay the compliments...
