The Convivial cafe — Restaurant in London

This hidden gem that combines the best of Algerian flavours with a classic British breakfast twist. I visited this cafe for the first time a year ago and was already impressed, but returning recently, I can confidently say they’ve taken their standards to an entirely new level.

I ordered the Mediterranean breakfast, and it was simply outstanding. Every element of the dish was bursting with flavour, even down to the spinach!!!

The balance of Mediterranean ingredients with the comforting elements of a traditional British breakfast was both creative and delicious.

What truly sets this place apart, is the staff. They are so accommodating, warm, and genuinely kind. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome, creating an atmosphere that’s as inviting as the food is exceptional.

This remains to be my favourite cafe in London!

Service was quick, attentive, and indeed convivial. The cappuccino came quickly, which was well needed before a long day of rehearsal, and lunch (the convivial baguette with homemade chips and salad) was priced very well, came just hot enough to appreciate but not so much so that it should burn my tongue, and was alive with flavour. If there should be one note, it is that it came a little while after the coffee at which point the drink was depleted and I would have appreciated being able to enjoy both without as much of an interval. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone who should be in the area!

OK let’s mention the homemade secret sauce first - it’s superb. The food is all cooked to order and pretty much all homemade, so you can expect a bit more of a wait than other places, but it is worth it. The guy serving us was very friendly, and everything we ordered was very tasty. I can recommend the chicken shawarma and lamb kofta wraps in particular - served with light, fluffy and crisp chips made in-house. Our kids had panini which were perfectly cooked and well filled. Quality stuff.

My coffee wasn’t great but my wife had a good hot chocolate.
