Bustling with humans noshing, aromas aromaring and meat sizzling, we wondered if we’d get a table. There was still a table for a teddy bear and his crazy human mummy! Warm ambient lighting with colourful mosaic lightshades, try to bring peace to the loudness of the busy restaurant. Service was reasonably fast despite the business. Mummy was happy to have a large napkin that properly covered her lap. A portion of silky Paneer Malai Kofta, lightly spiced Mushroom Fried Rice and a soft Peshwari Naam was shared with Mummy Debra. I would have preferred to have taken our time but it was a little loud for Mummy Debra’s sensitive hearing. We loved that the empty plate arrived nicely heated. However, we were not so impressed by the plastic perforated plate that the naan arrived on. Not only was it plastic but it was a touch grubby on the edges. Thankfully not where the naan touched. The vanity unit in the lavatory was very wet but I guess they cannot check it after every visit by a customer. There is a step up to the door way and no ramp.

We went to Mayhek for my husband’s birthday, and the owner made efforts to make this extra special. We ordered the tandoori salmon, mince and cheese naan, garlic and chilli lamb, and lamb raezella. As we were not keen on poppadoms, the owner gave us complimentary onion bhajis whilst we waited for our food. When the food arrived, it was delicious and presented beautifully. The portion sizes were generous, there wasn’t excessive oil and you could tell the ingredients were fresh. I particularly enjoyed the freshness of the mince in my naan. Mince and cheese wasn’t on the menu - it was either or - but the owner kindly made the naan on my request. We had a lassi and filter coffee afterwards which were a nice way to end the meal. Throughout the meal, the owner regularly checked on us and was very friendly, which added a nice personal touch. Overall, I found the quality and service at Mayhek excellent in comparison to other Indian restaurants I’ve been to and will definitely be back!

The food at Mayhek was absolutely delicious every single dish was full of rich flavour and freshly made. We had a big variety (seafood, meat curries, naan, and vegetable dishes) and everything came out piping hot and beautifully spiced. The garlic naan was soft and fluffy, the curries were packed with depth, and the sizzling prawns were a highlight. The service was friendly and welcoming throughout the staff made sure we were looked after and topped things up quickly. The atmosphere is cosy with a nice cultural touch, making it a comfortable place to sit down and enjoy a proper meal. For me, this was a very satisfying dining experience. The food really stands out as one of the best Indian spots I’ve tried, and I would happily come back again. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you want authentic, flavourful dishes with great service.

Ordered food for a lovely Christmas Eve dinner and was sourly disgusted lamb curry dish was basically a little bit of watery curry sauce covered in what seemed to be a gallon of oil. The oil was separated and was sitting on top of half an inch of what is meant to be the curry sauce. I also had the disfortune to order the tandoori grill that was cold and not cooked properly the portion size was miniscule and was absolutely not worth the money. I am so disappointed i wish there was the option to have zero stars. The overall dining experience was awful even the nan was soggy and disgusting. I am apparently going to get a refund for at least half the meal. Also I cannot stress the importance of customer service I called the restaurant back to complain and got my brother to talk to the guy who was very unprofessional on the phone we even heard him swear at my brother when talking to another collegue in their language which we understand. Certainly had a poor experience wouldn't recommend it to...
