FAO: REBECCA DODD
I am the longest serving Stuart rider in London.
Though the restaurant is very well run, the manager Joel goes on power trips with delivery riders like myself. He insists on me saying I have changed my status to "picked up" - which is not something a rider should normally do till they are ready to pull away, as setting the job to "picked up" gives the customer accurate information about your exact departure time, which they can follow in real time.
I waited for a package, and when it arrived, I put it in my bag. Joel ordered me (without saying please) to press picked up. I said, "Of course," and pressed it as I was turning and leaving.
I've done thousands of jobs flawlessly, and had told him so just before this, to give him confidence he can rely on me to always press whatever button etc. As a result of my telling him that, he cancelled my next job (3/6/2022 approx 6:15pm), costing McDonald's a double fee (I still get paid), and forcing the customer unfairly to have to wait for another rider to be assigned. I phoned the customer and they were quite upset because their son was hungry and it was a special weekend (The Jubilee).
This unacceptable micromanaging and the ensuing power trip (where Joel assured me he will give me negative feedback) means I can't log on in this area now because chances are I'll get a lot of McDonald's orders, which Joel will not let me pick up, or he will undermine my feedback, as he has threatened, or both.
This is malicious action against my attempt to serve customers in a job I not only love, but am the best at. If you do not trust professionals to press a button without being micromanaged, you are failing to trust your business partners, to properly delegate, and more importantly, failing to protect customers because if you don't trust riders, why are you giving them food to deliver to adults and children to eat?
McDonald's will owe me £60 lost earnings per day that I am in this area and cannot work because of Joel cancelling my orders and maliciously undermining my stats.
Reading this and not attempting to contact me means you unconditionally accept my ongoing and increasing loss, so the sooner you fix...

Still haven’t sorted out the drive thru issue with the give way markings - clearly it’s blocking people in who want to leave as the give way road markings have been put in the wrong place, saw a young man this morning desperately trying to politely explain for another driver to move back so he could exit the car park… this will get really frustrating and will leave lots of angry customers - sort it…
Original review left for transparency.
Great Place To Stop!
Been here loads of times, I mean who only visit MD once…
This place has recently refurbished the car park and drive thru and although it can be a bit confusing I think they achieved the overall goal of serving you quicker… be mindful when leaving back onto the A312 it appears there’s no give way in the car park allowing customer to drive straight to the first window whilst others are desperate to leave - seen a lot of near misses there…
Food is the usual, hot, greasy and addictive!! Always ask them for fresh fries and make sure to tell them to top them up… mine was half full and this has happened a few times.
It’s 24 hours, and yes you’re gonna get the locals asking you for money, but they are no trouble really, I often get them something to eat or drink - poor people!
Staff are friendly and very helpful - they better be getting a pay rise this year especially after the millions MC is making there!!
Asda petrol station next door and enough spaces to sit up and eat your meal.
Nice spot to visit… stop by!!
Will be a returning customer...
Read moreBeen here before and used the drive thru . On this occasion we decided to eat in . Just finished at the fishing event at Northala Feilds "Get hooked on fishing " , my son and I took a young kid of our neighbour who has Autism and he loved it...highly recommended. Going back to mc D we sat down and ordered food whilst my was in the queue there were these young girls moaning about a homeless guy in the queue because he smelled . He had managed to find a free meal on one of there promotion cups/ packages. Fair play to the staff they let him get on with and he sat across from us and was pleasantly sat and didn't disturb anyone. At some point he left and never noticed as I wanted to buy him some more food. As we left and drove of I was looking out for him to no avail. Just we came out of the car park there is parade of shops and he was stood in the Doorway. We called out to him but I think he thought we were being abusive and turned away. So I got my son to stop the car causing slight backup of traffic and jumped out and went over and gave him a £10 . When receiving this he thanked me, but to hear his voice so well spoken and polite it made my weekend. So if you him or anyone down on there luck remember the priceless gifted of...
