Firstly, I had placed an order on ubereats and was causally waiting in bed for my McDonald’s breakfast to arrive. My driver had arrived right outside my house and then I got a notification to say my order was cancelled. This was ridiculous as my driver was literally downstairs? Anyway this may have been the driver up to no good so this is not my main complaint. I then realised it was too late to place an order for delivery again as breakfast was nearly over so I placed another order for collection as if I haven’t been inconvenienced already I got in my car and went to Frien Barnet McDonald’s now I’ve arrived there after placing my collection order and making my payment and the staff at the counter told me I was too late for breakfast as it was 11:06 and breakfast finishes at 11. There is so much wrong with this as I have already placed the order if this was the case why then has the app allowed me to place this order? This is not my error this is your error and if so uber eats error I should not have been sent away like that. When insisted on getting my food as I had placed my order the staff member called another member to me I’m guessing this was the store manager. Store manager told me the same thing and nothing to resolve my issue when I insisted a little more he threatened to call the police on me and started dialling them. The dining area was infested with hundreds of flies, and I kid you not; this is no exaggeration. These flies were not just a minor annoyance; they were landing on people's food and buzzing all over the tables.
According to the Food Safety Act 1990 in the UK, it is the restaurant's duty to maintain a hygienic environment for food preparation and service. Flies, in such overwhelming numbers, pose a severe risk of food contamination and are absolutely unacceptable.
Moreover, The Food Hygiene (England) Regulations 2013 clearly mandate that food establishments must ensure a clean and pest-free environment. This regulation was clearly ignored at this McDonald's branch.
To make matters worse, it seemed like many customers were rightfully complaining about the fly infestation, yet the management's response was far from helpful. In a situation where health and safety are at risk, one would expect swift and effective action from the management, but sadly, that was not the case.
My overall experience was utterly disappointing, and I would strongly advise against dining at this McDonald's until they address these severe health and safety issues. Read moreThis branch is located inside the retail park on the left hand side once you enter you cannot miss it. It is then followed up by Costa coffee and Subway. Ideally the retail park is easy if you arrive by car as there is a large set of parking spaces and you can have a browse do your shopping. The restaurant chain itself was clean, organized and the staff were very friendly. The doors were automatic and easily accessible for buggies. The layout was very easy to move through and it looked very modern with iPads for children to play, multiple baby high chairs and lots of space for larger parties to dine in too. The service was quick and seamless and the staff all have a great working relationship together. I felt like the team enjoyed their job and was genuine. Coming here with a baby I noticed the disabled toilet was locked which was where the baby changing table was and it was very clean. The table was much more sturdy than other places I have been too. They have both indoor and outdoor seating available as well as a drive through. The restaurant was well lit and and have large windows for the natural lighting too. This is one go the best McDonald's I have ever been too within the London. Definitely recommend if you are around here.
