On arrival the staff were lovely they could not do enough for you and this continued for the rest of the evening very attentive. The atmosphere was was great so nice seeing people enjoying themselves. Candles on the table gives a lovely low light and intimate atmosphere. The food was exceptional I had the steak and that was just divine cooked exactly how I like it vertually still mooing very tender and flavorful my husband's burger was amazing loved the pickles on it which is unusual as he hates pickles usually. The food service was very quick. The beer selection was very good and it was lovely to try so many I must admit my personal favourites were the Raspberry Berliner (this I have had as a webshop order in the past) & Lene a strong but gorgeous beer... I would certainly recommend Mikkeller to anyone for a great night out. I would come back time and time again if I lived closer but a bit if a trek from Devon... Thank you Mikkeller for such a wonderful...
Read moreI was excited to be here - but had a very negative experience at the door with the bouncer. I was asked to produce ID, which I totally understand and respect, and while I was doing that, I asked how old do you think I am, to which she got completely offended and threatened to refuse me entry. She then refused to look at my ID until I point blank answered her question of how old I was, followed by her asking to see if I own a bank card and wanting to check that, followed by unsolicited advice on how to talk to bouncers. The experience was humiliating, felt uncalled for, unavoidable, slightly racist, and I didnt enjoy my night at Mikkeler after. Someone’s perceived age shouldnt be treated as a free pass to treat them like shit. Its a shame because I was excited to be here, and I know this would make no difference to the business, but I dont think I would be returning to Mikkeller. I never post reviews but felt this...
Read moreI normally enjoy a workday lunch at Mikkeller. The beer selection was great as ever with friendly service and I'm happy paying £6-7 for a tasty well-brewed craft beer. Today I discovered a new menu courtesy of an Oli Baba's popup and tried the lamb burger and chips. It was disappointing and felt overpriced at £13. The burger was small and the lamb patty kind of dry and thin like something you'd buy in frozen food aisle and cook up at home. Chips were over seasoned. Whole thing just really underwhelming. I'd have told the staff had they come to check on me but they didn't. For £13 I'd expect a stacked juicy burger that requires several serviettes but...
