Customers are being offered a big discount by the new owners to anyone who will write a 5 star review so here’s my honest review. (See pic below of first review before ownership changed)
Mimi’s used to be my go to place (I was a regular for over 3 years). The service and quality of food was always amazing, I looked forward to going there, whether it was for making it my remote working area for the day or regular breakfast spot with loved ones!
Out of loyalty we continued coming even after ownership changed. Here’s how it’s been:
Visit 1) We came for breakfast, we had to wait a long time to order food, and they said food would take a while as they were busy. When we asked if we could have our drinks in the meantime, they said they couldn’t promise anything - 30 minutes later we hadn’t received our drinks, so we cancelled our order and left.
Visit 2) We ordered via Uber Eats (which we’ve never had any issues with ordering in the past when it was the previous owners). Our order arrived with both items with incorrect/missing toppings. I called up and said that the order was incorrect, the lady in charge told me that they had a new chef training in the kitchen and they’d remake it immediately and we could collect and get a refund via UberEats and they would call Uber and request it on our behalf (2 attempts later and I’ve been refused a refund by Uber.) Once we collected and opened the box we noticed that once again they’d given us the wrong order! When we called and spoke to the lady again, she blamed us and said there were 2 Oreo variations and we ordered the normal one not the white one. We opened up UberEats whilst on the phone to her and got the exact item up that we ordered, and went through the entire menu and explained there’s only 1 Oreo variation waffle/crepe listed and it specifies white chocolate sauce. She then said there was nothing else she could do now and rushed to end the call.
At this point we just wanted to eat our dessert after so much hassle, opened it up and it was an overcooked crispy crepe that was awful! (video attached)
We have tried giving Mimis multiple chances in the hope it improves, but the new owners have really dragged down the reputation of what was once a favourite local...

Under new management: Nicely redecorated. Seating choice not thought through. Uncomfortable. Not enough chairs. High glare of sunlight coming through large windows and makes it very hot. Wait till summer, you will be roasting and blinded by the sun LOL Menu has changed but not for the better. When we arrived, 6 people had already walked out because they hadnt been served.
Had to get waitresses attention to be served.
They removed Knickerbocker Glory Sundae from the menu so I ordered candyfloss sundae. In their NEW menu it clearly states 'with strawberries'. Instead, I got some strange tasting gelato with bubble gum sauce and marshmellows. I was offered some strawberry slices and sauce but I was so pissed off at that point that I said no cos it didnt taste anything like candyfloss. Waiter lied to me and said my sundae was from the old menu.
Coffees were fine, cheesecake was nice. Just your normal simple offering where you cant go wrong.
Wrong spoons given, and not given enough sugar.
No apology from the waiter, just excuses. Just humbly say sorry.
This place has gone downhill for food and service.
I suggest before you get your alcohol license which I can see you applied for, perhaps look at improvements to your customer service and menu!
Secondly, you spent so much money redecorating, to be honest, (you didnt need to), maybe you should have spent the money on changing or improving those awful large glass windows which are a nightmare on a sunny day during all seasons. And have more staff if you cant cope with a few extra customers.
On a final note, removing/changing the menu. I get why you did it but removing halal breakfast in heston/hounslow lol. Knickerbocker Glory sundae is also a popular sundae aswell as other ones you have removed.
Better off going to another dessert place. I wont be coming back here.

Read moreI m a regular customer to Mimis and we came for every occasion and today they are not ready to serve us… the staff right now who is working is saying I m busy I cannot serve you… if u want to go then go and when are ready to go then she said shoutly said go… I didn’t expect this kind of behaviour from Mimis staff…
Honey u r a wonderful person but ur staff has lied to u if they even talked about us asking for savouries, all we did was come in and order then we had to wait for 20 minutes after asking for water and after those 20 minutes when we asked a member of staff if they could send us water at least even if the rest of the order is delayed because we could tell it was busy that day , that specific member said and I quote “ Can u see my table ?!? It’s full !! I am very busy , if u can wait then wait or u can go “ . Now that is an unacceptable response to a customer who asking merely for water so we decided that we should probably leave considering that member was not in her right mind to talk to us properly. When we started leaving another member politely asked us why we were leaving and we said that the other member was being rude. After that , the member that was being rude shouted “ FINE GO, GO!” . Now I understand it must have been busy but this is such excruciating behaviour, I have never experienced this before and like I said I am a regular customer.
