Although it wasn't very easy to spot while approaching from King's Cross station, it's nicely located in Coal Drops Yard and near many other attractions you can enjoy after having your meal or drinks. Just moments before we were turned away by a waitress because we didn't have a reservation, another member of the staff noticed us and let us in on the condition that we would leave by a certain time, as there was a reservation on the table. We ordered the M&B's grilled cheese, double smash burger, and house fries. The grilled cheese and house fries were very good, leaving the impression of special menu items on our palates. On the other hand, the burger didn't live up to its price. The brioche bun was the only good thing about it; its patties were smashed to razor-thin, causing them to dry out and lose their flavor, and there was insufficient sauce inside, making it feel quite dry overall. It definitely doesn't deserve to be on the menu when you can get the grilled cheese sandwich for almost 35% cheaper. Our overall experience was good, although both my brother and I felt a mild dose of unfriendliness from the waitress, the same one who had initially sent us away. Her tone and behavior were not welcoming or soothing and seemed like she was trying to rush us. I would consider coming here again, but only for the grilled cheese sandwich, if we're in the area, out of options, and want a quick meal.

Food was nice. Good location. Atmosphere wasn't the best as it was mid afternoon with a few screaming babies. Service was a bit slow. Drinks were nice and reasonably priced

It had quite a rustic feel inside but since there were no tables available outside we secured a small one at the rear indoors. It’s not the largest of places and the exposed wooden tables didn’t give the cleanest of feels. For a brunch style meal there’s a good range of items on the menu, with the breakfast items available until midday. When ordering the Bob’s Brunch it was strange to be told poached eggs weren’t available, but I could have fried or scrambled instead. Once it arrived the toast was very well done which took the edge off an otherwise nice dish. The caesar salad was a good portion size with plenty of cheese. It’s certainly not the cheapest of options, especially for a quick brunch. Paying the bill wasn’t the easiest to obtain so we nearly took advantage of the QR code on the table to do so online - it shocked us that not only was this going to add 12% for service but also another charge for the convenience of paying by phone. I’m not sure I’d rush back, but for a more casual lighter bite in an area of more formal dining it’s an option.

Went here last night for a family meal. It was the worst restaurant experience that any of us have had. Would have expected way more for the location and the price.

Firstly the only pros: The cocktails (when they arrived) were good and the starters were OK.

The cons: I arrived about 10 mins after the rest of the group. Nobody noticed that I had and asked if I wanted a drink or even offered a glass of water, bearing in mind it was a really hot evening. When my drink did arrive, it came without the requested water. It took another 10 mins to bring a bottle of tap water and then 5 to bring me a glass! My mother in law doesn't eat meat. She asked if the burrata was vegetarian as it wasn't indicated as such on the menu. The waitress replied "I guess, I've only been here a month!" Our starters and mains arrived all at the same time. God knows how they thought we were going to eat 8 dishes at once, or even fit them all on the table! Cue mass confusion when we asked them to take away the main courses for later. After we finished the starters, we waited for ages and finally had to find a waiter and request our mains! The salmon had evidently been sitting under the hot pass for half an hour as it was completely dried out, my steak was raw, not rare, raw (I also hadn't been asked how i wanted it cooked)! One of the mains never even arrived. The only toilet was out of order throughout. No sign on the door to tell people about this. As we were sat nearest to the toilet, we ended up having to inform them all.

Eventually we complained to the manager, who apologised and gave us the meal for free. No idea where he'd been for the rest of the evening. Not keeping an eye on his staff who were stood around drying cutlery, chatting and generally ignoring the guests!

Appreciate that many of the waiting staff might be new in the job following lockdown, but so many of these mistakes could have been avoided with a bit of attention to detail and common sense. Would definitely not recommend and will...

I visited this venue this evening with 11 guests, having pre booked a table online. This venue is named and described on the website as "All day dining cafe, restaurant & bar". No where in booking online does it offer you options of dining & drinks or just drinks. Having spent upwards of £150 on drinks and lots of food from the sharing section (parmesan fries x4, fries x4, rosties x3 and Olives x1) all ordered within 10 mins of arriving. We were visited by our waitress to take a food order, which we politely declined given the above food was still being consumed. Another lady arrived at the table, asked who made the reservation, to which I acknowledged she then abruptly and rudely said "we are a restaurant, you can have the table for another hour, then you must leave". I found this rather rude and embarrassing, needless to say we finished up and left within another 10 mins. I took the opportunity to speak to the lady who I assume is some sort of manager away from my guests to share my disappointment. Pointing out they are in fact a Bar as per their website and name, I did book online, the website says no where about a mandatory must order main dishes rule. The order of only having the table for one more hour like a punishment from the rude lady was actually only 25 mins less that the 2 hour booking I had originally made. She made some excuse about being busy (it was empty). The whole experience was embarrassing, unnecessary and not aligned with the website or booking process. Either a change of name (not Bar), and process when booking (state clearly mains must be ordered) and some better training of staff is required. It's a shame really as the food was nice and we would have stayed and ordered more sharing food and desserts. This was a work outing with my team, it should have been an enjoyable experience but it was hugely disappointing and we will not...

I met a business colleague for breakfast. When we left, a member of staff rushed out from the restaurant saying that the payment hadn't gone through. I returned to the restaurant, and showed them on my bank account that it had indeed been debited. However the person from Morty & Bob's insisted he had credited out that transaction and I had to pay again. I insisted he send me an email confirming that if the first payment was not credited back the following day, that I would be immediately refunded. Upon receipt of the email - having wasted 15 minutes - I made the payment on a different card from a different bank. The next day, I had still been debited by both banks. I contacted Morty & Bob's by email. They asked for screenshots as proof, which I provided. They then said I had been credited through their system, and sent a shot of a transfer that didn't show I was the beneficiary. After a further exchange of emails with a Mr. Grant, their operations manager, transpired they had credited a card that ended with 4 digits that were not on either of my cards, the last 4 digits of both I had provided to them. 6 days after eating there, being double charged, and demonstrating clearly this was the case, I am yet to be reimbursed. I strongly suggest you do not use a credit or debit card to pay at this establishment, unless you have no problem with funding them to the tune of about £37 for an undetermined amount of time, and are happy to spend ages reporting a transaction to your bank that is at best extremely incompetent, and at worst fraudulent - tome will tell which of these interpretations is more accurate. My simple advice is to avoid this establishment...
