Wow, where do I even begin? We celebrated a New Year’s Eve birthday party at Mother Restaurant, and it was nothing short of magical. This wasn’t just a meal—it was an experience that left every single one of us raving about it for hours afterward.
From the moment we walked through the doors, we knew we were in for something special. The exterior, with its vibrant Persian-inspired decor, was just the start. Inside, it felt warm, welcoming, and so full of life—the perfect setting for a celebration. The combination of intricate designs and cozy vibes created an atmosphere that felt festive and intimate at the same time.
The Warmest Welcome
The staff? Absolutely phenomenal. They greeted us with the biggest smiles and made us feel like royalty from the get-go. They helped us arrange everything down to the tiniest detail, ensuring the birthday felt extra special. They even surprised the birthday guest with a sweet touch that had everyone cheering—it was clear they truly cared about making the night unforgettable.
The Food—Oh My Goodness, the Food!
The food was the star of the show. Every single dish that came out was a masterpiece. We started with fresh, warm naan and dips that were so delicious we almost filled up before the mains even arrived (but trust me, we powered through!).
We ordered the mixed grill platters, and honestly, I can still taste the koobideh and saffron chicken as I write this—juicy, tender, and perfectly seasoned. The rice? Fluffy, fragrant, and topped with a hint of saffron that made every bite feel like a little celebration of its own. The salads were crisp and refreshing, and the portions? Generous doesn’t even begin to describe it.
A Birthday to Remember
The staff added so much joy to our evening. They played along with the party vibes, made sure we had everything we needed, and even managed to sneak in a few surprises. It was clear they genuinely wanted us to have the best time, and boy, did they deliver.
And the timing of it all—celebrating a birthday on New Year’s Eve with such incredible food and hospitality—just felt so perfect. The restaurant had this vibrant yet relaxed energy that made us feel both festive and at home.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a place to make memories, Mother Restaurant is IT. Whether it’s a birthday, New Year’s Eve, or just a random Tuesday, they make every moment feel extraordinary. The food, the ambiance, the people—it all came together in a way that was honestly unforgettable.
Thank you, Mother Restaurant, for making this New Year’s Eve birthday party one for the books. We’ll be back soon (and probably dragging more friends...
Read moreHad an experience today in this quaint little Persian restaurant, FANTASTIC Service by the head waiter MAHDI, serving us made it a real pleasure and very welcoming with a big smile and extremely attentive to say the least, extremely pleasant and professional as far as service goes, and believe me I’ve been to many restaurants around london and the world because my work takes me and one of my favorite food is Persian cuisine I also personally have experience in owning and running restaurants. the meal we had was a different experience altogether, I can easily say i’ve had much much better elsewhere, in this restaurant the kebabs on the pallet tasted just onion and covered in food colouring and fatty!? yellow! And yellow, boy oh boy, Far too much and not a scrap of traditional saffrons like other good Iranian restaurants use, to a point that all I could taste was onion and eating food colouring, nothing else could be tasted, the kebab meat in Chenje kebab was old the rice was over cooked and tasteless , finny tonne of the kebabs we had ( barg, Chenje or kubide did NOT TASTE like kebabs and freshly marinated lamb AT ALL, so sad we didn’t eat much of it but finally asked to take it away for our local fox who visits us regularly, at least we don’t waist it, and the poor creature can eat, NeverMind the money we had to pay. Honestly was not worth it at all, kubide kebab was even worst smelling strong of old fat and looking totally yellow inside and fatty brown yellow on the outside, awful to the meaning of the word, finally asked for a cup of tea and we were served with cinnamon tea never asked for cinnamon, did dot enjoy it either, they did not mention the spices for tea at all, this obviously reflects wholly on management and not the poor staff, they need to up their OJT skills and how to cater for the good money they take from the public, I MUST SAY Mahdi tried his best to make the experience as pleasant as possible but unfortunately the quality of food served no matter how hard the waiter tried ( believe me he did his best) sorry to say food wise the whole experience was not pleasant whatsoever, I don’t think I be going back there again and for sure would hesitate recommending it either. A little care, a little quality, and a little professionalism combined with honesty in giving people what they are due for the money and trust they give to receive what they are meant to receive MAKES all the Difference! I wish you good luck and hope the MANAGEMENT can accept an honest constructive and caring review, hopefully will make the...
Read moreBad second experience compared to my first time, a friend wants to take me there for my birthday, he books a table of three, waiter tries to give us for a table of six when we get there (I’m fat but I don’t look like four extra people fat)
Secondly, the waiters are dressed like they’re about to go clubbing, anyway so he shows us to our table and we get the menu, I’m being nudged in the back by some kid while the parent is not disciplining her child, she’s probably in a supermarket somewhere standing horizontally in a vertical isle, a friend I was with asks if they have a beer menu and they respond with “we don’t serve alcohol here” which is fine but then adds in a very accusatory way “and we don’t allow any on the premises either.”
He asks me what I want and I tell him I want rice and that lamb on top of the rice and he asks me what kind of lamb, and I know it was a shish but all he mentioned was cubed or minced, I’m assuming my previous meal had cubes because it wasn’t minced meat on my plate and I also requested that my meal be brought out on a round plate (because they have these rectangular plates that look like roof tiles and in my opinion aren’t appropriate for eating a rice based meal), anyway we all order and wait.
Salad was fine Olives were fine Tea was nice and herbal
We get the meal and it was nothing like the meal I had previously had, he brings out my meal on guess what….. A RECTANGULAR PLATE….. then I tell him I wanted a round one so instead of taking my plate back to the kitchen, he brings me a plate for me to do myself so I’m sat there basically playing Takeshis castle with my food scooping it from this long rectangular plate onto a spherical one, and don’t even get me started on the meat, completely the wrong type of lamb I wanted…..and then it dawns on me that “minced” was shish and it ruined my entire meal because of the way they worded it, don’t say “minced meat” because that implies that it’s going to be like mince meat piled on a plate and not pressed together on a skewer and cooked that way. you run a restaurant….do better, it ruined my whole BIRTHDAY dinner, so I poured the chewy elastic band “lamb” onto my friends plate because I was so angry at it being on there and just sat there trying to eat the rice as quick as possible and leave, horrible experience, waiters weren’t friendly as all..
Overrated annoying place, and don’t ask any questions attaining to alcohol or anything haram because I believe you will have a sub standard night...
