Napoli on the Road - Chiswick — Restaurant in London

Was extremely excited for this and left with a really weird vibe. I will go ahead and acknowledge that part of this is my fault but let me explain further.

We arrived after seeing all the hype about this place… the space is extremely cramped, but that’s kind- expected out of the london restaurant I suppose. The menu arrives and it includes a lot of words that I don’t quite recognize so I order the spinach and capicola pizza along with some appetizers the appetizers and drinks arrive and everything is going extremely well. But then our Neapolitan pizza that I just mentioned doesn’t arrive in 40 minutes while our neighboring tables go through their whole service. Nobody really checked on us during this time either. Once we get the attention of the waiter, they mentioned that there is a mistake and the pizza will be coming out shortly. 20 minutes later, we bring it to their attention again, and then they acknowledge that they never actually put the order for the pizza and it would be coming out shortly. this really ruined the vibe, considering it was supposed to be a date night.

The next part, I take complete responsibility for and I believe this is where they did a good job redeeming their service. But the vibe was still weird. I didn’t realize that capicola was meat and I don’t eat that (the menus have a lot of Italian words, but no descriptions in English). Upon my request they changed out the pizza to the caccio Pepe but made a couple snooty comments about it… either way, they did that change for free and they also gave us round of soda for free because of the wait of nearly an hour…

So yeah, great great great food, a one off weird service experience (part them part me). By the end of it, though, I was itching to get the heck out of there… Would...

Napoli on the Road, Chiswick - Exceptional Pizza Worth the Wait

What a find! Napoli on the Road absolutely delivers on authentic Italian pizza in a lively, bustling atmosphere that lets you know you've found something special.

The pizza here is genuinely outstanding - had the zucchini, cream, provolone and mortadella combination and it was absolutely fire. The flavors worked perfectly together, with the creamy base complementing the salty mortadella and fresh zucchini beautifully. The crust had that perfect Neapolitan texture - charred edges with a soft, chewy center that held up to the generous toppings.

The appetizers were equally impressive and definitely worth starting with. The service throughout was tremendous - staff were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and kept things moving despite how busy the place gets.

Speaking of busy - there's a great buzz here that adds to the whole experience. The energy is infectious and you can tell this place has quickly become a local favorite. While I'd definitely recommend making a reservation, I managed to snag a table after just a 15-minute wait, which wasn't bad at all considering how popular it clearly is.

The pizza is unbelievable good indeed, nothing to say about that. But service was terrible. First we asked to change tables because we were close to the door and was cold, there were others 2 places table empties still but the manager lady told us they were fully booked and couldn’t moved us (we was going to swap with another table with 2 seats, so not sure what the issue with that). But ok, then the waiter was super rushing us, as soon as we seat he asked if we were ready to order (I didn’t even have opened the menu) he came back to ask if we were ready to order 4 times in 15min. When my bf finished his last bite the same waiter came to remove the plate, I was still eating mine. When he then collected my plate too and asked if we wanted dessert menu we said no, but we order another piece for takeaway, he then already offer us our bill without we even ask for it. We felt completely rushed, without even feel the pleasure of enjoying a nice meal, we left there in 1h top, I didn’t even finished my drink because of the feeling you’ve been rushed. I understand we had 1h and 30min of our table booked, but didn’t even stay for a hole hour. Yes the food is good, but I wouldn’t comeback. You want to at least enjoy your meal. At the bill they already charge you over 12% for service which I wouldn’t have payed.
