Ridiculous. Before we even ordered, a massive mixed salad arrived with a dish of cucumber tzaziki type stuff AND a bowl of delicious lentil SOUP!
I ordered aubergine stew which was well-tasty (with peppers). It was a generous portion and came with a FAMILY SIZED plate of rice.
The missus, who is very fussy, had lamb chops which came with (more) salad and (more) rice. I asked her if it was good but she wouldn't be distracted from her munching. I asked again later but she was still sucking the bones. A 'yes', I'd say then. I forgot to mention the breads which are a bubbly cross between naan bread an popodom but with a different flavour.
They don't do fizzy drinks but refreshingly offer just-squeezed juices, a yoghurt drink or tea (like Turkish tea). I had a couple of slugs of the tea which was nice and strong and my guest had orange juice which was delicious.
I hate waste and was upset that I had to leave some rice and salad as I was approaching Mr Creosote territory.
The decor is very basic, cafe-like rather than restaurant-like, which is a shame.
I'd be happy to pay more for smaller portions and lose the free soup. At the same time, I'd like table-cloths, curtains and a pot-plant or two.

Read moreA Kurdish oasis amongst all the Turkish restaurants. The most tender kebabs and the naan which is a mix between Pakistani naan and fluffy roti which is soft and wonderful to quickly eat warm as they stiffen as they get cold. Awesome place, good portions, decent staff and an excellent welcoming owner.
My goto place in London and it never disappoints
The warm comforting soup which is complimentary is served with the warm bread, salad and cucumber yoghurt. I always end up eating too much of this which means I hardly ever finish the mains.
Their mix grills are a decent size and well priced. They haven’t raised their prices too much and certainly not the extent some of the other restaurants have on Green Lane.
The complimentary Turkish tea with a sweet at the end is a lovely end to the meal.
Locals eat here all the time which is always...
Read moreI compare everything with price. With £56 and five people, we all got fully full and no room for anything else with leftovers on the table! The food is really delicious with large portions, I'd say each portion is enough for two people as you also get some salad and sides for free. Anyway, note that tea is free and you can get how many teas you want for free.
Definitely I will go to this place again.
Details:
Lamb Qouzi is great. You can get Neck or shoulder whatever you want. It comes with two side dishes and it is enough for two people of course. 9/10
