Papa's Chicken East London — Restaurant in London

This place is where I go and eat during school time. The food is nice and the prices are affordable but the smell of the place is appalling. I can’t stand in there for more than 10 seconds without it entering my nose and punching my lungs. I don’t understand how they got a 5 star hygiene rating, there’s no way that smell didn’t hit any of the inspectors. It’s so prominent aswell. The second you open the door and walk in you’re hit with a whiff of whatever that must is. I think that goes to say you CANNOT eat in here. You really can’t expect a good review if I have to step outside and wait for my food. I didn’t post this review for weeks because I thought it was a one time thing, but it’s like it’s getting worse every time I’m there. Inspectors need to review the hygiene again and figure out...

It's not like how it used to be anymore. They must think customers cant taste the difference in the food. But we can hence why I now visit it occasionally and not regularly.

Also cash payment only. Family meals come with a bottle of 1.5L drink. The wide selection is Fanta orange, Pepsi or 7up......

The chilli sauce used to be a nice in house made one. Now it's the big standard sachets which are not as nice nor the quantity is satisfying.

The chicken wings have decreased in size. One day the wings have too much salt in the mix. Other days its bland.

This place fell off since they changed from Sams. Just recently the Upton Park branch has improved so thought to try out this branch to see if they have improved overall as well. Worst fast food ever. Chips were reheated, dry, hard and tasted like Hula Hoops. The wings, the coating on them were hard and dry, chicken itself was dry, the coating was coming off the wing itself. And finally the chicken fillet burger. Again the coating was hard, chicken was dry, thin slice of fillet and loaded with big chucks of lettuce with a dollop of mayonnaise dripping out the burger.

Wouldn't go again, would rather have a bowl of cereal, Coco Rocks to...
