This place is nice and clean. The staff is friendly and prompt.ordering process did not take time and I did not have to wait too long for the food to arrive. One of the best breakfast I had in this area in a long time. Food tastes better than most of other cafes in the area but it is seriously overpriced. Almost similar food at another cafe near by was priced around half, taste wasn't very far either. I can recommend it for a slightly better taste but the price is seriously high so you make your own choice. The only other thing which disappointed me apart from the high prices was that the tea the provided was the weakest tea I ever had in any cafe with breakfast but then the taste of food made up for it. Location is very prominent, parking is a trouble like any other place at London. I have attached some photos of the cafe.

Atlast, a welcome revamp of the old cafe that once stood there in the corner of Barking Road. Ali’s Cafe is like a breath of fresh air in a street surrounded by chicken/pizza shops. Lovely coffee in keeping with the name, the lady who took our orders is very friendly, decor inside- minimalist and mood cafe lighting is just right. However, ordered food-was not as exciting we thought it would be, lacking the ‘wow’ and ‘yum’ factors (bread used is like regular store bought). They could rethink about the presentation and taste of other breakfast menus they have, and for sure, this would be win-win!

Nice looking place and good to see in Plaistow. Food tastes nice, is value for money, however would be good if they offered halal options to reflect the local demographic. Friendly staff, lovely food freshly cooked at a good price. The place was clean, busy but not full.

For over two years, I used to frequent this café, as it is spacious, with lots of outside seating and clean toilet facilities. Sadly, I will not be spending another penny there, after being made to feel unwelcomed on more than one occasion.

I also get the distinct impression that the behaviour of customers, no matter how innocuous, is ‘monitored’ by staff and they secretly criticise select customers for the pettiest of reasons.

Taking into account that their prices are steep and, in recent months, the café hasn’t been as busy as it used to be, you’d think that the staff would value its returning customers. But, oh no, that’s far too much to ask for!

Btw, the reward card scheme is a complete scam. The card clearly states that you get a stamp for every hot drink ordered – after nine stamps, you get your tenth hot drink for free. However, staff has refused to stamp the reward card after ordering a tea, so it only applies to coffees!

The final straw came when I was treated like a criminal for ordering a mocha, whenever I redeemed a completed reward card. I mostly order cappuccinos and redeem my card once every two months. A mocha is 40p more than a cappuccino.

The rude male barista/owner [a gormless Neanderthal, who once aggressively attempted to force open the door to the gents TWICE, when the signage clearly stated that it was occupied] said that, since I mostly order cappuccinos, I should only redeem a completed reward card against a cappuccino and not a slightly more expensive mocha. In other words, I was being unreasonable!

There are no terms and conditions on the reward card, and it clearly states throughout “hot drink”. So, you’re seriously willing to lose a loyal customer because of 20p a month?! Just wow…

Predictably, the owner will, at some point, post a reply lying about the whole situation, but I urge those reading this review not to believe him and to take your custom elsewhere. With the exception of one or two individuals, the rest of the staff at this café desperately need to drop the attitude and truly appreciate their returning customers, instead of acting like a bunch of moody,...

Rude staff and mostly average food that is overpriced. Coffee is disgusting. Try the Costa machine in the local Tesco or shell. It’s cheaper and nicer or walk for twenty mins down to Central Park cafe or the park cafe where they are much nicer and you get a view of nature and not traffic.

I went to pay with a £20 note which was accepted then my boyfriend jokingly emptied all the change from his pockets and put it on the counter. There were a few 50p’s, a couple of pound coins and around 20 2 and 5p’s. The lady said she would not take the 2 a d 5p’s. He said it was all a tip and I was paying with the note but then he was a bit offended that she refused his money so he said moneys money so let’s pay with these coins first. The lady said no, took the note and gave us change ironically in 50 and 20p’s as she didn’t have any pound coins!

We still left all the change as a tip as we didn’t want to go back on our word.

Needless to say we won’t...
