This was honestly the worst experience I’ve ever had with a takeaway. The staff were extremely rude and disrespectful from the start. I was left waiting over 30 minutes for my food, but when I asked about it, the staff member lied and said I had only been waiting 4 minutes. I explained my phone was about to die, and instead of listening or helping, they ignored me and kept me waiting until my phone actually died.
My mum’s friend had already paid for my first pizza while he was in the shop, but when I went back, they told me I had to pay again. That doesn’t make any sense — why would I pay twice for the same pizza? To make things worse, I never even received the first pizza that had already been paid for. They then made me wait ages again for the second pizza, which they never even bothered to make properly.
While I was still waiting, another man in normal clothes walked straight into the kitchen area, started talking to me, and got involved in the situation even though he wasn’t staff. His pizza was ready and handed to him before mine, even though I had already been waiting much longer. After that, more people came in and got their food before me too — it was clear they had no respect for fairness or order.
The food I eventually got was stone cold, rushed, and completely inedible. My pizza tasted awful, and my mum’s food was undercooked, which ended up making both of us ill. Instead of apologising or offering a refund, they gave me a random charger and a drink like that would fix the problem. By the time everything was done, I had missed my bus and had to walk nearly 50 minutes home at night because of their incompetence.
This place does not care about customers at all. They lie, they overcharge, they don’t deliver the food properly, and they have no respect for people’s time or health. Avoid this Papa John’s completely – the staff should honestly be retrained or replaced.

Read moreExtremely poor service! Waited an hour for my pizza...driver was late with no sense of urgency about him. Pizza was missing several toppings and sides were soggy. Called the store and after being palmed off from patronising staff to patronising staff 3 times, I was told a replacement was on the way. Waited a further hour and 25 minutes for the replacement. Before it arrived, called the store after an hour and asked for refund. Got palmed off twice and manager says he will grant a refund and demands I give back everything from previous order. Replacement arrives after waiting a further 25 minutes; I send the replacement back with the previous order leaving me with no food at all at this point. Manager calls very rude arguing and yelling on the phone saying my complaint was unacceptable and point blank refuses to give me a refund. After waiting 2 hours and 25 minutes to end up with NO FOOD AND NO MONEY!! No empathy, no hospitality, lack of care and customer service. I have been left with no food and still without a refund!! Read moreWe decided to use Papa Johns for the first time, they claim to use the best ingredients etc, normally we spend as a family of 4 about £20-30 from local pizza takeawas, this meal cost us just over £50 even with special voucher offers otherwise my meal would have been £90. The main problem was that we ordered a veggie pizza with 3 additional toppings which contained meat. They missed out all our topping choices @ £1.80 each Therefore I ended up with a wet veggie pizza, it tasted of nothing, this would be typical because we are meat eaters. Feedback: 1) bad quality control 2) I am also reminded again, that if I had ordered this meal via uber eats app this issue would have been resolved by a robot easily, at least a refund would have been provided without faff and soften the blow, therefore, it’s frustrating that there is no slick way to get a refund when papaJohn’s get things wrong (they shouldn’t at all considering the pizza price) 3) Having a fancy app does not help when there is no effective way to get my refund back… god knows how many £5’s you accidentally keep because people can’t be bothered to complain.
