The usual "sorry not available"... Why can't the staff simply turn the badge around when beer is finished, like most other " decent " pubs? This left only one/two beers on. Took ages to put through til as I had a Camra voucher - probably not seen very much in Dagenham! Menus conspicuous by the lack of them - this at 14:00! Blackboard proclaimed food served until 20:00 ...What's happened to food served until 23:00??? Some of the clientele look like they were left from pub's previous life - DHSS office... You couldn't make it up! Word of warning * This is no longer a Wetherspoon pub * It’s not been for some time but strangely the owners have kept the name and even the decor inside is Wetherspoon branded. Staff were pleasant enough after I stopped in for a quick pint. It’s a locals local now. You get stares of suspicion if the regulars don’t recognise you, that sort of place. But, didn’t bother me, they were ok. Very strange boozer though. It’s as though the management have just left the pub as it was when spoons handed it over some years ago. Toilets could do with upgrade, lots of graffiti too. Probably...

Very interesting place and welcoming staff. Closes early during the week but on Fridays and weekends becomes very active with music with a dance floor. The smoking area also has heaters with is a plus. By far the staff are the best aspect, often found mingling with people on their breaks and just being quite friendly and welcoming. One time I ran out of cigerattes and a staff member on their break in the smoking area...
