Passage to India Takeaway — Restaurant in London

Today at 8.30pm I ordered a takeaway, not greatly expensive....£23 or so, I was promised delivery within the hour but it was 9.45 before it was delivered which wasn't too bad apart from the fact that it was stone cold. Being annoyed I rang to complain and I admit I was a bit irate but what I didn't expect was to be told by a member of staff that he would like me to call to see him so he could beat me up. Not greatly pleasant. I did tell him.....when I could get a word in that I wouldn't be writing a favourable review. He finished by saying that he would recook everything and have it delivered within 20 minutes. I rang back saying that I no longer wanted their food as I was afraid that they would tamper with it. A few minutes later, the supposed manager rang me saying that I was being unreasonable and again shouting over me stating that he had been there for 30 years or so which I find odd as when I asked him if he knew of other Indian takeaways nearby where I had actually worked some years back he didn't know them. I have to admit that I was afraid that if they cooked another meal they would spit in it or do something to it, I did tell him that. Anyway, the upshot of all this is that in my opinion, the customer service here is rubbish, no one complaining should be threatened with being beat up by a member of staff. I shall never order...

I bought a lamb biryani for someone from Sri Lanka who works in a shop where I live in Thornton Heath on 1/2/24.

He wanted to know how good the food was in the area I work. He had been asking for 3 weeks and I finally got round to it. I tried to order from somewhere else on Uber delivery the day before but after 2 hours the order was cancelled. So I decided to order and pick up this time.

I called at 17.35 as soon as they were open. I told them I would collect after I finish work.

The person I bought it for let the other workers in the shop try a bit.

When I went back to the shop they all asked me if I had tried or ordered before which I haven't yet. They gave it 10/10 and we're raving about it. So now I have to try the food which I will do. They absolutely loved it. No peas in veg curry and I don't like peas.

If the Chef does a dry veg without sauce I would try this as well so I will find out.

Perfect service and meeted and greeted with a smile. Would totally recommend on the feedback I was given. If the person I gave it to says it was good then it is good.

They distributed pamphlets (i got it on our front door) of their menu under new management, it says there 15% discount orders through phone and their website. So I went ahead and placed my order through their website. I realized that they didn't give me the 15% discount when my husband asked me about it, so after 10 minutes, I decided to call and asked about the discount. The one who answered said they havent received my order, and that the website is not functioning yet. However, I saw in my bank account, that it is already under pending transaction. He was insisting to place my order to him (while on the phone) and pay again. I asked him why they are distributing pamphlets with that info and their website isn't working? He rudely told me that my question was very silly. So basically, he was saying that they didnt receive my order (but its pending on my bank account).
