Such a singular experience! This place is a semi-secret gem and not to be missed if you're any kind of radio, TV or history buff.
I made an appointment via email a couple weeks in advance, and Richard was there waiting for us when we arrived. He had a thorough presentation prepared but was also perfectly willing to let us stop and follow our curiosity, take pictures and ask questions. It's really hard to believe this is all stuffed into one back garden! There are so many gorgeous examples of early wireless sets, record players and televisions displayed beautifully - and many are functional!! Read moreI last visited this lovely little museum in probably 1989 or 1990. This nice man called Gerald Welles was running it ... probably the founder? I took my elderly Dad because he had always been interrested in Radios and was a Radio Operator in the RAF during the war. I am soooo pleased to see that it is still going. I live way up north-east now so I won't be visiting, but good luck...
