I came here to queens head in Uxbridge, but wasn’t able to eat due to the kitchen being closed, the waitress was kind and apologetic and recommended we go to the next pub. I filled out my questionnaire on the market research platform and that was that, no issues or problems.
The next day or so the manager calls me(a misuse of my phone number, she shouldn’t be calling my personal number) and screams at me down the phone, accusing my partner of harassing her staff, saying she has cctv of us doing this and that I put a bad review.
This was simply not true as we left after we found out there was no food, and we defo did not say anything to staff. I literally begged her to believe that I wouldn’t or didn’t do this and she kept shouting at me to take it down.
I was so so shocked, it felt so unjust as we hadn’t done anything. She made a mistake as she thought it was us when it wasn’t, but my god she believed she was right. I really hope she watched the cctv properly and saw that we left and barely spoke to the waitress, and when we did, we were polite!
The manager did not believe me one bit and continued screaming at me, telling me she has me on cctv and knows my partners name is Gary or something. (Which it isn’t). I swear to her that this isn’t the case. I had to use all my skills to de-escalate the situation and was shaking with anxiety. I felt sick.
I’ve got to say she will stand up for her staff really well which is great to see, but the audacity and rudeness to scream at customers and call their personal number was so so unprofessional. I am scared to go back here and had to block her number because I couldn’t deal with her screaming.
I cried so much after this call and it really really shook me.
I think other people would’ve hung up on her straight away after...
Read moreIt was my first visit and we planned to have dinner at The Queens Head as we had family visiting from Scotland, and they were staying at a hotel close by. They arrived earlier than the Ruislip diners, and were warmly greeted by the chef who they were absolutely delighted by. The barman was fabulous. Very helpful serving up copious amounts of Desperados to the guys. He also gave great advice with regards to food choice and even though he himself does not eat pie, he still gave it a big thumbs up saying that everyone who consumes it, really enjoys it. That was my choice. No two requested the same dish so we had a chance to look at at least more than six dishes on the table, including some of your sharing platter nibbles, of which the haloumi was rated 12/10. Your portions were rated value for money and absolutely delicious. Plan was to enjoy the sticky toffee pudding but nobody had space in their tums by the time the mains were devoured. All plates clean but one and that is because she is partially sighted and the dish overwhelmed her. She did however enjoy it at home the next evening. All together a fantastic experience. Our Scottish visitors snuck back in when we drove back to Ruislip, for an extra nightcap - we thought a coffee maybe, but no - it was a wee bit stronger than that. We will be back definitely. That halloumi is calling my name... Consumed at the table: Scampi, Fish n chips, steak n ale pie, bacon cheese burger and the three sharing plates - cod goujons, halloumi and Karaage Sticky Chicken plus three portions of...
Read moreAfter recently moving back to Uxbridge, myself and a couple friends decided to go on the hunt for a new local. Whilst trying out a few of the local pubs in the high street we realised we wanted something a little more off-high street. Going back to the queens head after many years I quickly realised how unwelcome we felt. Whilst my friend had already had a couple pints - decided she would get some fresh air and wait outside whilst I finished my pint. The barmaid took it upon herself to (quite loudly) mock my friend to other regulars and have them laugh at her (18.07.24 evening). This made me feel incredibly awkward and upset that my friend was the laugh of the pub despite not appearing “too” drunk and sensibly taking herself away from the pub. After comments such as “she’s gonna squat in the door in a minute” and “look at the state of it” (not listing some due to being public and rude) were made I visited a new pub. Later walking past of course the barmaid was the loudest laugh when regulars started to mock me and appear extremely drunk and confrontational. Not being a massive drinker this definitely put me off from visiting there again. Would love to return as I have been to this pub before years ago, I wouldn’t feel...
