Iāve wanted to go here for SO LONG and finally, one drizzly day in April, I made it! I used the kids as an excuse but quite frankly the only excuse you need is that their ice cream is delicious āŗļø
Thereās several different sizes, including smaller ones for kids. My boys got mint choc chip (which is very minty - itās tasty but probably a bit too strong for my 4 year old) and lemon sorbet, and salted caramel and lemon sorbet. I went for the strawberry cheesecake which is a little off piste for me but I had zero regrets, it tasted slightly jammy, creamy and some great cheesecake base crumbly bits. I had this with strawberry sorbet.
Apparently the chocolate sorbet is fantastic, as is the Romeo and giulietta flavour (I think itās a white and dark chocolate flavour - canāt quite remember š).
Staff are friendly and helpful, and even though it was a rainy day, a queue had formed outside the shop while we were ordering! Itās small inside so the queue can look longer than it is. Plus, thereās no seating in case thatās something...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm giving this 4 stars instead of 3, because this will always be better than any of the fake gelato out there.
I was quite disappointed with the quality here. The gelato was too hard, and perhaps they ought to work on the temperature control with the freezer.
Gelato lasts 72 hours... I'm not sure if it's stored a little colder than -12°C to extend the shelf life to a week in the winter?
The strawberry sorbetto wasn't very tasty, and it's my own fault for ordering strawberry out of season.
The caramel tasted lush. But again, too hard. The same with the Straciatella.
Customer service was great, and very proactive with allergies and dietary constraints.
Maybe I just got there on a bad day?
Maybe this is just the standard?
I'll certainly try again...

Ice Cream is good but..
I had 2 scoops of hazelnut (cone).
The person who served us wasn't good at filling the cone with it. Yes, There's a way to layer the gelato in the cone and obviously the guy wasn't taught how to.
Not that I'd care, but the result was that my cone was completely empty and you want to eat the crunchy cone with gelato in it.
Keep in mind that the cone should be halfway filled with gelato for this reason! Any Gelateria would confirm that.
Secondly and most importantly, the taste didn't convince me. We experimented by going straight to Oddono on Church street and ordered another ice cream of hazelnut.... Ha!
Sorry Romeo & Juliet, on Hazelnut there's no game....
