Ruchi Indian & Bangladeshi Restaurant — Restaurant in London

We've visited dozens of Indian restaurants across Brentford, Twickenham, Hounslow, Isleworth Richmond, Kingston and many other areas of London so know our stuff. We chose this restaurant after reading such positive reviews on Tripadvisor and Google but it was shockingly bad. We ordered the Prawn Pathia starter and their specilaty lamb starter. Both were quite plain, lacking taste and the lamb was incredibly tough and chewy. For mains, we ordered a fish curry and a lamb curry. The fish curry had no flavour at all; it was tasteless. The lamb curry seemed to have a similar base but with a little more tomato and chilli. It's almost as if they were both from a jar of ready-made curry base. It's puzzling as to how the food was so bland and tasteless but the place has such good reviews. Nice people but quite poor service. Mains came up with starters. A main dish then came up on its own and we waited 10 minutes for the other dishes so sent it back and asked for it to be re heated and brought out with the rest of the food. When all the main dishes came out mine was just warm. The waitress didn't clear the table before bringing the main dishes out so she had nowhere to put the dishes on the table. Waitress was leaning right across you putting drinks on the table so her armpit was 6" from your face which wasn't very pleasant. The food tasted good but the service in my experience was very poor and needs addressing. There were only three tables occupied in the restaurant so I think they would struggle when busy. Ruchi is a amazing, i'd go as far as saying the best in Hampton (Monaf's is also very good, but a little more expensive). If you choose to eat-in, go for the Ruchi special which is not only a lovely dish, it arrives at you table on fire! My only gripe with this place is that I once ordered a delivery and it didn't show up, there was some confusion about whether the order was for delivery or collection and in this instance I found them to be rude and I ended up with cold food! If they can work on the service a bit this would be a 5 star review, there really is no need to be rude to...
