I love the ambiance of the place, the food Masha'Allah is amazing and the service isn't too bad either. I would deffo recommend this place to friends and family. Only downside is that the price is a bit pricey for what it is. But it's nice from time to time or special occasions. *** Came back to their Leyton Branch Friday 31st October 2025. It was quite busy but we were seated straight away. The waiter who seated us has been here since it opened; which was nice to see - he is very professional, polite, respectful and accommodating, offered us a variety of seating..we chose to sit near the private room as I wasn't in the mood to be seated near to someone else's table. I didn't like that you had to scan a QR code for the menu (it was trying to force me to download the menu to my phone)...so I went online instead- which was slightly annoying as it kept glitching (even the waiter found it a little techy as the page kept jumping)! I got the usual (Sahara Lamb fillet steak, Mash instead of the chips [which was an additional £1.50], steamed veg), and a Sahara Passion (mocktail). My friend tried to order the beef steak, but they never had any - so lamb steak it was! The food was a little chewy but so delicious I cannot complain! My friend found it to be a bit spicy (but was warned)! The drink may not be as decorated with garnishes like umbrellas as I remember, but it is just as refreshing as I recall. The table next to us was very loud; and the space between us wasn't as far as I'd liked (as they made a new table for them because of the number of guests eating), but thankfully we were nearly done. This is such a failsafe option - the atmosphere is always lively, there's a private room (2) for families, and if I'm not mistaken - a place to pray Allah'humma barik lahum. I'd still recommend for people to come here...and it's been an option for me for many years now.

Review (04/03/2025): I celebrated my birthday dinner here last night, and the food was absolutely fantastic! My neighbor and I ordered short ribs with rice & gravy, chicken steak with yellow rice and coleslaw, mixed fried rice with a side of sauce, and a delicious portion of dynamite shrimp. For drinks, we had an orange Tango, mango frappe, tea, and lemon water. Dessert was a treat – the rich chocolate mousse cake and the warm apple crumble with custard were both incredible. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked – we were pleasantly surprised by how good it all tasted! The restaurant was quiet due to Ramadan, but the service was outstanding. A big thank you to Azhar, Redwan (the manager), and the staff member with glasses – all were very welcoming, friendly, and even opened the door for us on our way out, which was a lovely gesture. We paid £110.70, which was excellent value for such a wonderful birthday dinner. We’ve been here before, and each visit has been a great experience. It’s always nice to find a place that consistently delivers excellent food and warm service – looking forward to come back again soon!

I booked a table for 5 people, the person taking the call was very competent and professional. When going to the restaurant staff were very welcoming and friendly. We ordered a plain burger meal, Sahara chicken platter and sauté platter. We were looked after by a gentleman named Ridwan who’s very accommodating and friendly. He heard at our table the burger was spicy he immediately came over to our table and asked how we found our food and ordered a Cajun burger. I was very impressed with the level of service received from Ridwan. He made us feel comfortable. Overall experience of Sahara grill, family orientated, good service and comforting food. If you’re taking your family, your partner or a group I would highly recommend.

These guys literally invented the entire concept of super high-quality halal dining. They were true pioneers back then, and ever since, every similar styled restaurant has used Sahara Grill as the yardstick for quality, an excellent menu, top end service, and how a true quality outfit should operate in every aspect. For 20 years? they have been serving the best tasting steaks, jerk chicken, buffalo wings, and starters that you will find - anywhere. The food is always consistently and effortlessly superb regardless of which branch you visit (they have 5 in total, I think).

Sahara Grill food has its own special unique flavour and taste which is one thing that hasn't been replicated (not for lack of trying) by anyone else that has come after them, and I don't think that you will find a better steak anywhere, period.

So many restaurants, have subsequently tried to offer a Sahara Grill type experience, but nobody I have come across has even come close to replicating them because they have been doing it for so long, that they have perfected their food, service, environment and their systems, so everything just works like clockwork.

So, if you want the best steak in London, I suggest you try the lamb filet steak 'medium rare', which actually does 'melt in your mouth'.

I always had my steaks well done, as I thought they would be softer for some reason, until someone who actually knew about steaks much better than I did, suggested I try a medium rare lamb filet steak, and I am now a convert.

So well done guys, and I pay homage to the first and still the best for being as close to a halal fine dining experience you can get in London (they have apparently opened a branch in Birmingham on the famous Ladypool Road so the locals will soon understand what all the fuss it about).

Anyway, five Michelin stars from me and most of my friends and colleagues who no doubt hold the same opinion as I do about this excellent chain of...

I have never in my whole entire life instantly vomited upon leaving the shop literally right outside the shop I have vomited after eating the most un-hygienic , off , expired and clearly cooked a few times and old piece of chicken ever. Avoid at all costs. AVOID. £70 bill but now suffering from the world’s most horrendous food poisoning. God is my witness I have never ever vomited so instantly. Wicked experience. Was today my visit at 9:21. Biggest regret of my life. This shop needs to be shut down. I will be moving this notion on to the local council because there is no way I will ever allow this for others. I didn’t complain at the time even though I had a gut feeling about the chicken I only ate a couple bites and upon leaving I went to the toilet was hit with instant problems then as I have exited the door I have vomited the whole meal. I don’t suffer from dietary illness and this has never happened to me in 23 years of living. If you take the time to read this review, I will be going to the hospital to prove this food poisoning and mark my words I will not come to a stop against attempting to shut down this establishment. If you read this in time go have a peak down the road left infront of a garage all the evidence of my sickness. Horrible horrible horrible. DO NOT IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR HEALTH COME TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. Upon seeing the reviews now I’m shocked to see not just I suffering from this. You know you’re clearly cross- contaminating and service old ran down chicken. Shame on you. What kind of an establishment allows this. I am still sick and I write this to...
