Met a friend for breakfast this morning. We split the avocado toast w/ 2 poached eggs, an almond croissant, and each had a cordato. The almond croissant was one of the best I’ve had. Light, fluffy, and almonds toasted perfectly. The filling was not gross and sugary like it often is, it had a subtle sweetness and was light and natural. The avocado toast was amazing. Please read again: THE AVOCADO TOAST WAS AMAZING. Toasted sesame seeds cooked to perfection, on a base of fresh sourdough, topped with two perfectly cooked poached eggs. The combination of flavors created a symphony for the palate. Oh wait! I forgot to mention the amazing side of red pepper paste. The smallest amount added another dimension to the meal. Service was excellent. Although it was one young girl, she had everything under control. The bathroom was extremely clean and smelled fresh. Saucer & Cup, keep up the good work. I look forward to coming back. Thank you ☕

Unequivocally the best coffee I've had in London. Lee is excellent at choosing fantastic coffees across the board and his enthusiasm shows in a consistently excellent product. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and their exceptional service keeps me loyal. On weekends and fridays it can be particularly busy but if you don't mind a bit of a wait it will be well worth it. The menu is small but caters for all (vegetarians/vegans/gluten intolerants) and the food is of a high standard. I cant thank you all enough for all the coffees, smiles, chats and for indulging my love of coffee by sharing your knowledge with me. Would recommend (and do) always.

March 2022 review = thought I'd visit again to see if the place had improved since my last review and I was made to feel really unwelcome. I don't get the atmosphere at all...I've worked in customer service and am always so polite to those in the industry yet on this visit I honestly felt like I was made to feel hugely unwelcome..the atmosphere was cold and I was made to feel like I was being bothersome simply for ordering food! I left questioning whether it was just my perception but judging by other reviews I am not alone - which strangely made me feel reassured !!

2 years ago review = Changing my review. My last visit was 10 months ago. I use to regularly visit, however since last April I have not been back.

On my last visit I had to wait 20 minutes to get a coffee, no apologies were given and the waitress spilt my coffee on giving it to me. (Having waited 20 minutes and for her not to apologise i just could not be bothered to complain!).

The food whilst still tasty, had reduced in portion size but yet the price had increased by around 10 percent. I appreciate the location is in Wimbledon but i still felt a bit short changed by this.

Overall, i love the fact that there is an independent coffee shop in the area and the parents of the owner who assist seem like lovely people. However, the service i received, coupled with the general attitude of the waitress and the young waistcoated/suited man (he has frequently behaved in a quite superior/ condescending manner towards me on many occasions prior) at the counter just do not make me want to recommend or...

We have been visiting this lovely little cafe regularly for the past few years. Despite the fact that my friend found their coffee too strong, I love their filter coffees. Although their food menu has not been changed for years, we love the food. Especially their hot sandwiches made with thick sour dough bread. However based on our recent dining experience, it does make me think twice before we go next.

On one Saturday early afternoon, four of us went to the cafe for lunch. It was not particularly busy and there was definitely a table for four on the ground floor (but with a bit of shuffle between the tables). We did get permission to have a spare table (from a couple next to us) to form a bigger table for us, but the waiter came around and said that they were told that it’s not allowed to shift the tables around and we were asked to go to the basement. Personally, I do not like dining underground, so we decided to leave in the end.

I do appreciate the fact that this might be its company policy. However, we’ve never had the same or similar experienced in other cafes. I do understand for slightly bigger restaurants they do have their particular tables’ setting system. This experience does let us feel less welcoming.

Instantly, this experience had taken away the usual norm of “warm atmosphere”off.

Honestly, the characteristic of this independent cafe has never been very warm anyway. Maybe “being cool” is how it wants to stand out.

But again I do want to support all the independent cafes and there are lots of others we or you could turn to for a...

This is my absolute favourite coffee shop of all times; the coffee cannot be compared to any other coffee in London, it’s just gorgeous! I’m a bit of a coffee connoisseur and try to visit the best coffee shops whenever I travel; the benchmark is always the coffee I have at Saucer and cup, very few in the world can compare! Beside the coffee the food is delicious, always made with the freshest groceries and a lot of love and care! Have to say that I’m chocked by some of the comments below on the service; this couldn’t be further from the truth; this small family run business is just lovely with friendly and attentive staff, it’s always packed with people who love what they do! This is not your high street coffee shop; if you expect a fake smile and selling attitude this is just not the place for you; the staff do not butter up, they have integrity and focus on what they do best; coffee! As some of the customers below I also bring my young children with me sometimes and have never had any problems; on the contrary they are always very welcoming and nurturing of young children! However I do find it common sense to respect other people’s peace and quiet and take my girls out if they’re being too noisy, think most people agree that you can’t let your children misbehave in a small place! Can’t recommend this place...
