Dreadful place. Abysmal. We came here as we wanted to try a different restaurant in New Malden instead of going to our usual restaurant across the road, Imone. Big mistake. This place literally looks like a cafe. It wasn’t busy but there were 3 tables that weren’t occupied and had dirty plates on it. The wait staff which consisted of two people couldn’t seem to cope. It took a while to be seated and for them to clean the table. I ordered 5 dishes and my order was taken electronically. I asked for water, only to be told to go to the back of the cafe and get my own cups and get water from the dispenser. Some cups were dirty. I also got my own cutlery and napkins from that area. Very strange. After around 15 minutes my 4 dishes arrived. We started eating….but….Where was my 5th dish. I got up to find the waitress asking where my bibimbap was. She said “you want me to add to this order?” I said no, I ordered it already. Then I sat back down. The other waitress came to find me and I said we were still waiting. Finally, the waitress said the bibimbap will be here in 15 minutes. Gosh.
The fried chicken was not good. No seasoning. We asked the waitress why this was the case. She said it’s fried chicken, missing the point. I said even KFC is seasoned. The seafood pancake tasted overwhelmingly of flour and wasn’t crispy. The japchae had glass noodles which were clumped together. Some basics basic errors.
In the end, we complained as I felt one of the waitress was rude and the food was appalling. I felt the service was lacking in that I got everything myself (so where was the hygiene?) and I had to go get the waitresses. We asked if the chef was Korean as we couldn’t comprehend why the food was so bad. Apparently the chef is Korean and maybe has no taste buds. Also all Korean restaurants give you lots of side dishes before you get your order eg kimchi, potatoes etc but here it was not the case. Where are the side dishes? I have never complained in a restaurant so I was a bit concerned at their reaction but they dealt with my complaint very professionally and I finally got the bill. Hopefully, they will take my complaint as constructive criticism...

14th Aug 2021… 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Omg!!! What a surprise on the fried chicken!!! I can say it’s the best Korean fried chicken we’ve ever had… we had them in HK before and no way near this one…
We went to have a look around New Malden for the first time and decided to stop at this place due to high rating… we waited as they had a paper on the door “out in a bit and be back at 4pm…” so we just waited… on the street… I’m the heat… then went in… oh… it’s a small cafe… that day was hot and they didn’t turn on the aircon… I was not impressed at all until the food arrived… beef rice was so-so… then I was more disappointed thinking what’s with that high rating.., not until I took a bite of the fried chicken!!! OMG! we ordered 2 different sauces and both taste amazing.., how can you have so much sauce and the fried chicken still so crunchy and very thin crisp on the outside… meat was so juicy inside aswell… we couldn’t finish all and got a box to takeaway… and we ate again before midnight without heating them up… omg still taste amazing!!! 10⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the chicken!
I was dreaming about the chicken so I will definitely come back again JUST FOR THE CHICKEN!!!
ps. I am very fussy about chicken as I grew up eating fresh chicken everyday due to my family business… I rarely order chicken dish when I eat out as I can taste the “frozen, non fresh taste” in the chicken, even been put in fridge the taste is different to fresh chicken. So this place is...
Read moreWhat a beautiful little Korean restaurant I was introduced to this by my friend and ever since then my husband and I have been regular customers. The food here is so fantastic
Our go to order is usually half and half soy fried chicken and spicy yangnyeom chicken, chicken bimbimbap (dolset) This time instead of bimbimbap we went for kimchi fried rice and it was so yummy. I had the 3 strips fried chicken -spicy yangnyeom flavour and it went so well with kimchi fried rice
I've been coming here for 2 years now and I am so happy that the taste is still the same. I feel so happy being in this restaurant and the food leaves such a pleasant feeling even after eating. It's one of the rare occasions where food pictures were clicked before eating. This place makes such amazing KFC that you just want to enjoy them forgetting about the gram !
Reviews for dishes I have tried so far Chicken bimbimbap - comes with soup and kimchi. They give a small portion of hot sauce or sweet sauce to mix with the rice.. I order dolset because i like the crispy rice texture. You can perhaps order more sauce as it may not be enough to fully flavourise the rice. The soup is amazing too
KFC - both soy chicken and spicy yangnyeom flavour were amazing. It's crispy on the outside and juicy in the inside. I think this Comes with raddish which tastes amazing with fried chicken
Kimchi fried rice - this has kimchi, fried egg and small pieces of pork which goes so well. The rice is very well flavoured with gochugang and kimchi and is a good combination with beer and...
