Sidcup Place has always been a favourite place of ours but after this we won’t be returning and we don’t recommend going. We came here for a roast as a treat from my in-laws but from minute one it was a disaster. My partner and I arrived before my in-laws so we waited by the “Please wait here” sign. We were met by an empty station and a laptop that was clearly turned off. After waiting around for 10 minutes my in-laws arrived at which point I decided to seat ourselves at the table in the room on the right, there was a table (Table 12) that was free and so we sat down. There was a 70th birthday party near us so we knew that service was going to be affected, however the service was worse than awful. We flagged down multiple people to let them know we had just arrived but after locking eyes with a few staff and being completely ignored I decided to get up and get some menus. After 5 minutes a lady finally saw us and came straight to take drinks orders. We ordered food at the same time. Food came out quickly and came out hot but our cranberry sauce was in paper cups, we didn’t get cutlery without asking, our drinks came out 10 minutes after our food and we didn’t get any water despite asking multiple times. Staff were literally jogging around the place which is not a great look and we decided not to stay for dessert. We appreciate of course it’s busy and especially a birthday party will out more pressure on staff but this just highlights poor management. The food was nice, hot and tasty which was the only good thing about our visit.

My first visit to The Star at Sidcup Place was brilliant. We were served by George, a polite and friendly member of staff who was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also funny and pleasant, which made the evening even more enjoyable. I ordered the spicy pepperoni pizza and it was fantastic. When I asked if they had a garlic dip, they didn’t — but the chef went out of his way to make a fresh garlic butter, and honestly, it was incredible (still living rent-free in my head!). My friends had the braised lasagne, and the meat was tender, flavorful, and very well cooked. This place has now officially become our new go-to “catch-up over dinner” spot. Highly recommend!

We had our wedding celebration in 2015 we have been going here often. And now We celebrated our son 18th birthday in Star Sidcup Place. Excellent customer service. Lots of menu to choose from. Excellent food. Staffs helped us in every way even lent us some birthday decorations. Room function that we hired is just perfect. Staff allowed us to decorate the room in the way we want it. Parking are plenty and toilets are clean baby changing is available too. Disability-friendly. Sebastian, Roxy the Mgr’s are excellent. The is just right “STAR”

Would not recommend this place at all. It looks lovely inside and outside and seems very posh but the food is below adequate. We came in at 1pm as a party of 5 and were the only ones here for about 45 minutes. We ordered drinks which were nice and brought out timely. We had 2 starters which were also good and came out pretty quickly. But then as a few more tables came in this is where it all went downhill. We then waited over an hour for our mains and it wasn’t worth the wait. In this time another table had received all their food. One of the dishes the mash was very lumpy. The steak was pretty tough and the beef dripping and merlot sauce tasted like it had been in a vacuum pack and heated up in the microwave. The scampi tasted like it was frozen from the supermarket and the chips the same. The cod was pretty flavourless. The only nice thing was the cheese leek and potato pie. We had my elderly uncle with us who has dementia and he only ordered a side of chips and by the time the food came out he’d forgotten he was hungry and wouldn’t eat then and wanted to get up and leave. We also had my adult sister with us who has adhd and cannot sit and wait for long periods of time so by the time her food came she had a few mouthfuls and got bored and also wanted to leave. There was one waitress who it was only her third day on the job and needed support and I felt so sorry for her dealing with it on her own. Two people looked as tho they were helping run food and drinks. And apparently there was only one chef. This was supposed to be my mums 65th family birthday meal and it was pretty awful. After complaining to the waitress we did get 25% off which was good. But they when it came to taking payment they struggled to get the card machine to work. I definitely won’t be...

I booked a table for 6 in the Dining Area for my birthday and when we got there, we waited 10 minutes for someone to come over to us and then sit us on a table of 10 where they they came back over a minute later and said we had to move to the bar instead as someone needed this table. So we were moved on to 2 small circle tables which already feels separated in the bar with no waitress service. And male genetailia was carved into one of these tables (52 i believe) We then waiting at the bar for 25 minutes to even get some drinks.

Once we got drinks, we ordered food at the bar which again wasn't the dining experience we wanted for a celebration. When the food arrived, the burger tasted weird and the streak was overcooked bur as we had been there for over an hour already we just ate it because we couldn't get anyone's attention and waiting at the bar was getting us no where. Then when trying to order drinks and dessert, we were told by the person standing at the till "I am not serving you'll have to wait for someone else" so then had to wait a further 10 minutes for service.

No one came to clear plates on our table or any around us so we piled our plates on another table just so that we had a clear table for desserts. When desserts did ariive, The panna cotta clearly said raspberry compote and came with strawberries on top. It was also bland and the salted caramel ice cream on the chocolate melt was also not flavourful.

I found the service staff quite dismissive and rude. If the food was exemplary then maybe it would make up for that fact sightly but it was far from satisfactory. We spent over ÂŁ90 between 5 of us and I'm certain we could have eaten better...

So initially I was drawn to this place because of the eat out to help out scheme . Everywhere was packed so decided to give this place a go, my partner has also been before and had a good experience. We called up in advance to check for availability and to let them know we'd be over shortly. When we got to the restaurant the seating manager basically gave our intended seats away right in front of us and expected us to be ok sitting in the scorching heat. The table was also the only one with no sun umbrella, he should have asked us if we were willing to swap!!!

The waiters where so passive, a young girl served our drinks and didn't bother clearing away the glass that was already on the table. She dumped our drinks and proceeded to have a long conversation with the table behind us.

We where served our starter with the main. When I'm sure I saw most people get theirs before the main meal. Odd!!

Our food arrived, no offer on sauces. So I asked the young man when he returned with our starter. He disappeared and never came back with them. I had to get up and ask the table manager, who proceeded to hand me sauce sachets. My partner noticed that most people where served sauces in small pots, so was perplexed as to why we where given sachets!

We where also hounded by flies and wasps, a family had to move because of this. At no point did staff check in if food was OK and where indenial to people complaining about the pests.

Not a good experience, I've only give a 2 star because the chicken burger i had was actually good. Service is very poor, felt like our treatment was unacceptable and at times questionably prejudice. Won't be...
