Nice shop with a good selection of products but the lady was a bit moody for no obvious reason. Maybe I looked too poor to shop there.
Edit: in response to the business owner's reply.
Your comment about you receiving bad news was irrelevant as I visited your shop a few weeks prior. Makes me wonder how many other people you've been off with.
Everyone is facing their own battles. Leave your personal life at home or take a day off. There is no need to be rude to customers who are just trying to support your business.
My review was based on my first hand experience. You could have just responded with a generic "not usually moody but having an off day" but you decided to reply with a highly emotive and unprofessional response.
I was holding back in my original review. You were in fact incredibly and unnecessarily rude, not just a bit moody like I originally stated. Another customer witnessed this shocking display and looked over at me with concern.
You seem incapable of taking on board negative feedback which shows in your incredibly narcissistic replies.
My advice is if your business is struggling, don't be rude to customers and if you unintentionally cause offence, own up and take some responsibility.
Sadly this is one business that I won't be giving my money to anymore. I'd rather travel further afield and support a business that doesn't pick and choose who they want...
Read moreWhat a lovely shop! When I first went there (many moons ago), it was more of a regular corner store; somewhere to grab loo roll, baked beans and a sneaky bar of chocolate. Now, although they do still stock basics, the Mini Market specialises in beers - especially interesting, hard to source and local varieties.
Okan and Adrienne are the kindest, gentlest couple, and nothing is too much trouble for you, even if they're having a bad day or run ragged.
Adri will even try to source specific things at the cash'n'carry if they're able (catering to my year-round love of Pimms and diet 7up!) and will even drop off to my house nearby when I'm in too much pain to get out, or to carry anything home. Admittedly I'm only 5 minutes' walk away, and I'm not suggesting everyone takes advantage or I'll probably drive them mad! but you can appreciate that this type of care still requires organisation and a deep level of kindness, yet they act like it's no bother at all.
This is one of the many local businesses who care about the community; yet another reason why I love Leytonstone.
Of the many "offies" in the High Road, this is by far my favourite thanks to both their extreme kindness and huge, varied, range of beers. Give Okie and Adri your custom -...
Read moreWow!! So happy I discovered this amazing shop whilst going on my walks. The owners are so friendly. I was so excited to see a milk dispenser for oat milk but I didn’t have a bottle. The owner was so kind and gave me a glass bottle and showed me how to use the machine. They even have a peanut butter dispenser which uses organic peanuts. I also got some of this. He was so friendly and didn’t even charge me for the butter. The shop is about an hour walk for me as I live in Ilford but will definitely be going back because of the vegan friendly and plastic free products and the wonderful customer service. I will be taking lots of containers and jars when I next go to fill them up with lots of lovely goodies :) Thank you so much! You truly are the epitome of...
