Café D’ Horizon — Restaurant in London

Today (21-02.23) in the morning I popped into your cafe for sugar. I approached the man behind the counter and very politely asked if I could grab some sugar for my coffee (I brought it somewhere else but forgot sugar and was on my way to the station). The man behind the counter was LOVELY and said I could grab some sugar. In total I used two sachets. Out of know where an older, bigger man with a beard appeared yelling at me. I tried to explain that I didn't simply walk in and help myself which he acknowledged but didn't stop him from yelling at me Infront of all of the customers. As I turned to walk away he was still yelling, banging on the counter. He is still screaming at me for using the sugar, at this point I decided to stand up for myself which he clearly didn't like. His voice got louder and I got scared, I left immediately but kept looking back as I feared he may follow me out of the shop and to the bus stop. I have eaten at Horizon for years, I used to love it my favourite item was their falafel wrap. After what I experienced today I will NEVER return, the man was horrible and very intimidating. The other staff were nice, I felt really sorry for the man who allowed me to take the two sachets as I can only imagine the yelling he had to endure. The way the situation was handled was disgusting, I was scared, embarrassed and on the verge of tears. I hope your staff receive training on customer service because he clearly didn't...

Came here because people have told me its nice. I walked in and wasnt acknowledged, when I was finally spoken to, I asked what dairy alternatives there were and was eye rolled and impatiently told my options. Ordered an ICED almond coffee.. received a hot almond latte. When I said to the other man that I had ordered it as an iced coffee and that I was fine with him just pouring it over ice, I was given a filthy look and he walked away muttering, he spoke to the man at the coffee machine and audibly said "she's changed her mind to iced, it's what she asked for" ?!? Really?! I was then handed the same coffee in a glass with hardly any ice, no "sorry about that".. just another filthy look. The coffee was Luke warm and tasted gross. I ended up leaving it, the croissant was alright, nothing special. I won't...

i was invited by a friend to meet/catch up, over tea.

what a great little gem of a place. very pleasant staff behind the counter, knowledge about the culinary delicious offerings on display and the menu as a whole. inc dietary requirements and allergens.

found a delightful little table in the corner, as well as having a conversation with my friend, it was perfect for seeing what's happening inside & out of the café...... as if i was keeping an eye on the place 😘😂🤣😂

tables were kept clean, as staff were circulating around the floor keeping the tables clear and without interrupting conversations ....

all in all a great little gem of a place, definitely a must when in...
