Serious concerns at Subway Cricklewood
I would like to raise some concerns about the standards at this branch. During my recent visit, I observed a clear hygiene issue: a staff member prepared a meat sandwich and then, without changing gloves, used the same pair to handle the vegetarian patty from the fresh tray. As a vegetarian, this is unacceptable and raises serious concerns about cross-contamination. When I pointed this out, the staff member reassured me that she is also vegetarian and would be “careful,” but this is not an adequate or professional response. Proper food safety procedures should always be followed to protect customers. In addition, the portions provided were extremely limited. I specifically asked only for lettuce and sweetcorn with my veggie patty, yet I was told that I could not have more because of “rules” about limited portions. When I questioned this, I was told that if they added more, the sandwich would “get messy.” This explanation makes no sense — I had deliberately asked for no other toppings besides lettuce and sweetcorn. If I had asked for every single topping, perhaps it might overflow, but in this case the sandwich was anything but full. What I received was a very thin, bare sub that did not resemble a proper meal. Staff insisted this was due to their training and claimed it was outlined on the Subway website. I have checked the website, and this is not the case. The official guidance clearly allows fillings as long as the sandwich can be reasonably closed without excess mess. The way portions were controlled here was unreasonable and misleading. Overall, this experience was extremely disappointing. I would expect Subway, as a global brand, to uphold consistent standards of hygiene, customer care, and value. Unfortunately, this location fell short on all counts. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, addresses food safety training, and reviews portion practices to ensure customers receive the standard Subway...
Read moreThe service I received today was devastating. If there were option for no stars I would have chosen that. I went in the subway I wasn’t greeted well. I asked for a 6-inch sub meatball and chicken tikka. The meatball sub was for my daughter, I asked for the meatball to be cut so it would be easier for my daughter to eat. I have been to subway before and this has never been a problem. The server told me with an attitude that I don’t cut the meatball. When asked why she said it’s extra work. She explained she would have to wash the knife. It sounds like the Neasden subway don’t like washing their equipment because it’s too much work. Then I explained I have received this serve before at other subways and this subway too. She then went on to explain to a pregnant woman(me) that it’s not cost effective. And customers get into bad habits. Excuse me my understanding is one of the core beliefs of subway is that the customer chooses and decides how their subway is made. I explained customer service is key to any business. She said customer service is just smiling at the customer. Which by the way she was not doing either. This isn’t the first time this has happened, my husband received a similar service from the same lady. He told me the she was rude and said “you British people just complain”. This is profoundly rude and said much more to follow. I decided to ignore the incident. When I was going to pay she told me that she had spoken to the manager and the manager said she doesn’t need to cut the meatballs. So I see the problem not only with the staff at Neasden subway but the management too. Is that how you teach your staff to believe towards customers. This is...
Read moreHave been going here for 5 years, and let me tell you this place is way past its prime. Once upon a time, under the previous management, the three employees were hilarious and chill people, even coming out in quiet times to sit and joke around with friends and I. Did their job well and I loved every single sub that was produced. The prices were absolutely miraculous, I mean £3 for a 6 inch + a huge cup with unlimited free refills, WAS A THING. ONCE. Now, god knows what happened. We stopped going for about a year or so and when I returned for my beloved BMT, I was met by silence and an empty, dirty shop. I thought I had missed a 'closed' sign on the door, looking at the tables filled with the wrappings of previous meals. A minute later a bored looking guy walks out. I asked where the others were and he says 'we're on our break'. I order a sub, for £3.20, and go to take a cup and he tells me that will be £1 extra. I returned over the next couple of days and saw that one of the old three still worked there. He looked like he was about to commit. The two other employees had...
