Zara Cafe Bistro — Restaurant in London

Went there for lunch. Was nicely greeted by the lady working there. Ordered a medium steak with salad and a black coffee. Coffee arrived shortly after ordering.

I could hear the Ladies Wimbledon finals was about to start from the TV, high on the wall directly behind me. I switch seats so the I can watch the finals while I eat. They switch the TV off.

Not enough time to be dissapointed as I could see the waitress coming towards me carrying a large, steaming plate. Wimbledon finals instantly forgotten. Things were looking promising. She places the plate before me.

First impression. The stench. That meat smelt bad, as in, way past it's sell by date. Second impression. The salad was plentiful and colourful. No steak knife on offer I note to myself as the waitress walks off. I take my first bite of the steak and my taste buds want to comit harakiri. The meat tastes as bad as it smells. I take a swig of coffee to wash the disgusting taste out of my mouth before carrying said plate back to the counter to inform them their meat was off.

"It was delivered fresh this morning", says chef. "Where from, Australia"? This made the customer behind me burst out laughing but not chef.

Change my order. Cheese and Ham Omelette with salad arrives shortly after. Half way through I note there's lots of ham but no cheese in my omelette. No rancid smell so I count my blessings. Also, why is the salad drenched in water. My omelette is swimming in a pond of water dripping off the salad.

I pay up and and leave then spend the rest of the afternoon trying to decide between buying a stomach pump or extra...

food isn't really great . use frozen Baguette , microwave and make the sandwich. price is average and fair.

hygiene should improve as food handling isn't really great. no had wash or use gloves. straight to making food and touch all the ingredients with hand without any...

I go there practically every day for breakfast with my 91 year old mother. Really good value for money and always kept very clean. Only thing is that I wish the staff can be a bit more friendly; apart from that everything is great and we enjoy...
