This is a great local Thai restaurant that unfortunately we don’t get to visit us much as we would like. It’s been an established part of my hometown of Hornchurch for many years serving fantastic thai cuisine. I’m now glad to say that on saturday we did have a chance to visit and once again the food was full of all the flavours you come to expect from this style of food. On saturday we set off on our fifteen minute walk into the heart of town where you will find the restaurant. We entered and received the usual friendly welcome before taking our seats. While we looked at the menu we ordered a lovely bottle Maison Bergon 2020 a delightful french sauvignon blanc which was full of citrus fruits , apple and lemongrass flavours. Unusually for us we decided to choose a set menu. We opted for the Bangkok menu with an extra thai salad. This started first with the Prawn Crackers and sweet chilli dipping sauce. The starter was a platter consisting of chicken satay , spring rolls , chicken on toast , chicken strips & prawn tempura which was all fresh , hot and full of fabulous thai flavours. We followed this with our extra dish the Yum Nuar a fabulous spicy salad of sliced grilled sirloin , onion , spring onion , coriander , lemon juice , fish sauce & chilli flakes that I would definitely recommend. We now moved to the main courses which would be Beef with ginger in black bean sauce , Chicken Green Curry , Vegetables with egg noodles & Thai jasmine rice. The flavours and spicing once again complimented each other perfectly making each dish absolutely delicious. To finish you could have either tea , coffee or a couple of scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream. This brought to an end our delightful thai lunch and one we hope to do again in the very near future. I would highly recommend a visit here as the food is fantastic and there’s always good friendly service. Also it’s a long established part of our community and should be supported. Thank You for our fabulous lunch and look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Lovely fresh and delicious meal. We decided to visit Sukhothai restaurant for a Sunday afternoon meal. Having lived in the area for many years and walked past, this was our first visit, and we were very pleased with the meal. All food was full of taste and the portion sizes were more than adequate to be shared between two. The starters we chose were Thai fish cakes, calamari and sharing platter for its variety. The Thai fish cakes were a revelation; the lemongrass was light and ‘Zingy’, but not overpowering. Some of the best calamari we have eaten; lightly battered and fried, well seasoned and cooked. The sharing platter has excellent chicken satay skewers, the lightly battered prawns were nice, as were the vegetable pancake rolls. The prawn and chicken toast was also nice, as was the dim sum. The calamari was so good we almost ordered a takeaway portion! We chose the following mains, beef with mushrooms, onion and black beans in soy sauce, which was well-cooked and well seasoned. Both red and green chicken pad Thai, plus stir-fry vegetable-noodles and vegetables in soy sauce. Lovely seasoned pad Thai, rich and creamy with plenty of thinly sliced chicken. We also had an egg-fried rice. Good sized portions, no need for additional side dishes or a takeaway carton. Lovely, fresh tasting selections. Good portion sizes and value. The service was professional and polite. We given the time to decide on what we wanted. When asked details about the meals the waitresses were welcoming and pleasant. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm and left just before 4pm, so it quiet, as such, cannot offer an opinion on the atmosphere, but the decor is pleasant and clean. Our first visit, but not our last as we loved it.

5 hygiene stars is a great start. Lovely cheerful vibe on a Saturday evening - it was full at 8pm so book ahead. 5 plus stars for the starters - the best we’d ever had. We got the starter platter. Large juicy prawn each in lovely crispy breadcrumb, very thick and juicy prawn and minced chicken toasts, large skewer of satay, spring rolls and a dumpling. My main was tofu pad prik which sadly let it down as the sauce was really much too salty to enjoy. My friend said I should return it but it was a bday party. But I really liked my coconut rice. My message to the restaurant - reduce the salt please. Without the salt it would have been 5 stars.

Me and my wife walked into this place ad-hoc, as we couldn't even get through on the phone to book a table?

We arrived around 8.05pm and asked for a table of two. We were very kindly accommodated onto a table and asked if we wouldn't mind vacating the table by 9pm as a large table reservation was made, this was cool and we were happy to do so.

Food menus arrived, with all very friendly staff - and food also arrived very quick, fresh and hot - tasted great too.

We asked for the bill and surprisingly there was a 10% tip added at the bottom? I did think this was really odd, and coming to think of it now - I should have probably questioned why it was added to a bill of just 2 people, who let's face it - had to eat food very quickly in order for the table to be vacated.

It's a shame really, as up to that point all was going well - but I did think...
