After our regular Chinese restaurant in Finchley Road closed down, my group of 4-5 friends began the search for a new spot for our weekly Wednesday get-togethers. Among the many options available, we settled on Taro because they were willing to accommodate us even after 10 pm.

During our two visits, we decided to skip the sushi and opted for the main dishes instead. We tried the Chicken Ramen, Seafood Yakisoba, Chicken Katsu Curry, and Tempura Soba, and were not disappointed. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable.

We were pleasantly surprised by the speedy service at Taro. Our food arrived quickly, and the staff was attentive to our needs. In terms of taste, we all agreed that the dishes were fantastic. Even those among us who claimed to be knowledgeable about Japanese food had only good things to say about Taro.

All in all, we were very pleased with our experience at Taro and will definitely be returning. It was refreshing to find a restaurant that offered such quality food and service at a...

AVOID

I ordered a Ā£31 sushi platter and asked if I could swap salmon with tuna due to an intolerance. The waitress said yes no problem. When the food arrived the salmon hadn’t been swapped out. When I enquired what had happened she thrn spoke to the sushi chef in front of me who shouted over the counter ā€œyou should have ordered a la carteā€ and they refused to do anything to fix the situation.

I don’t remember ever being in a restaurant where they were 1) so rude and 2) so short sighted. We normally go to Sushi Masa in Willesden but wanted to try something different. We won’t go back to Taro where the food was average, the choice limited and the service lousy.

Save your money and your sanity,...

We were shocked. Myself and a friend eat here often. The food is very good and fresh and the staff are really friendly and kind. On our latest visit, when the bill came we noticed that 10% was already added for service. No problem. But I wanted to add a little more and put it all on the credit card. So I asked the server if they get the extra and was told No. Even worse it turned out that the staff do not get the 10% added to the bill. None of it. I think this is really unaccptable. And it definitely took the shine off the evening. I'm sure we will go back from time to time but I would be really pleased if this bad policy would change. It's...

This place deserves more love. The food is so good, and the price is incredibly reasonable for London considering the quality of fish they have for their sushi and sashimi. Please give this place a second thought. The inside is cute and classic, very comfortable and homely. The server is so sweet and you can tell he wants to be helpful. I’ve gotten take away with them and decided to sit down as well, and I am having a wonderful afternoon with a cheeky beer. It may come off as incredibly silly, but it’s this place and meal that made me forget my worries of the week, today. (Also discovered my love of sesame seed ice cream here).

Loved loved loved the menu & the flavours of Taro Sushi & Japanese restaurant , Finchley Road . We enjoyed Everything we ordered from crab stick & tobiko rolls to beef Bibimbaap My fav was the tuna salad, beef Bibimbaap the steamed vegetable dimsum ( unbelievably yummy) . the prawn and vegetable tempura were also very tasty but it lacked seasoning.. I highly recommend going and eating there They are also on Deliveroo .. but I recommend dining in Service was quick & the waiting staff were very helpful.
