Wasn't impressed at all.
The negatives: The chicken burgers were standard with little taste. They made a dietary mistake and misinformed us of what ingredients were in a dish although we notified them prior to visiting via the notes section on the booking form AND the staff went to speak to the chef and told us specific Ingredients weren't in the dish to find those ingredients poking out of the dish when it came out. It's worrying for a restaurant to have a CHEF misinform us of ingredients. This could be fatal to other future diners with allergies.
Out of the 4 of us, 2 diners ate together while they sorted the error. The 3rd diner's fish went cold while we waited for something else to come out for the 4th diner. We didn't want her to eat alone. Our bottle of wine took forever, had to ask for it TWICE. Not much knowledge on recommendations for wine. We had to research it ourselves on Google and then order.
Positives: lovely decor and ambience. Lovely mocktails. The king prawn starters were tasty too. Management apologised for the dietary error and made something bespoke but a creamy pasta with vegetables was pretty standard and not exciting. But ate it anyway, at this point we were very hungry. They took my fish away and made a new one so at least 2 of us could dine together. That was nice of management.
I think they need more staff on a Saturday and also need to remember the standard diners who don't have birthdays or celebrations as we had to wait around a lot and were less attentive towards the other customers. We spent 3 hours and 10 mins here for just starters and mains. We didn't want to wait around for desserts, I think we'd given up by 10.40pm to want dessert so late and we wanted to move on to the rest of our evening.
Can't see us visiting again. Not a...
Read moreFirstly, there was a DJ which was great, however the music was so loud that we have to repeat ourselves to the servers multiple times as they couldn’t hear what we were saying!
Loud music is fine and creates a nice vibe but it seems they don’t know if they want to be a restaurant or a nightclub and it definitely can’t be both due to the size.
Secondly, the food was very mediocre according to my meat eating friends. Definitely not worth the price tag they put on it!
I ordered the halloumi as a starter and it literally just came plain, on a plate. For £12 a portion, you would expect some sort of sauce or garnish. It said it came with olive oil but it was barely on the halloumi and it was just very basic and bland.
Also, the general vegetarian options are terrible. There’s one vegetarian and one vegan option on the main menu. I went for the vegan option as it sounded quite nice but when it came, it was completely bland!
I understand that the majority eat meat and that’s fine, but it’s really annoying when restaurants offer veggie options and then make zero effort with them. You could honestly make the same thing at home, and it would probably have more flavour. There was no effort made with the veggie dishes and seems they put something on the menu for the sake of it.
Lastly, despite being a small venue and having plenty of staff, the service was incredibly slow. We probably would have given it more of a chance and had some more drinks if it wasn’t that we were waiting so long for someone to acknowledge our table. Which is another reason we just decided to just pay our bill and leave, instead of complaining about all of the above.
Overall, we unfortunately wouldn’t go here again and wouldn’t recommend it to others. It definitely needs so...
Read moreWe booked Ten after a recommendation for my Dads Birthday. The booking was for 16 which meant we needed to book via phone. We had to wait a day to get confirmation from the manager because he was the only one with access to the the table bookings. However the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The staff on the night were super engaging and friendly, Alberto was particularly fantastic. Food was hit and miss. The starters were delish! but I ordered the pork belly and cheek and thought it was extremely average. The mash potatoes had way to much mustard which made it sickly and therefore I could not finish it. Others who had the same dish also agree with this. I can't speak for other mains but I think they all went down well. The wine was good and a very reasonable price! Our main issues with the night was the the sound of the music. There was a Dj who was playing some great music. She really knew how to read the room however the speaker quality is terrible, there is no base and it sounds super tinny, on top of that, because of the acoustics the sound is very screechy and therefore we couldn't hear each other from across the table. We asked to turn down the sound and they obliged but eventually the sound was increased. We also noticed that the sound at the front of the restaurant was much quieter than then back, which is where we were sitting- this also could be down to the layout and acoustics. I would recommend to groups of 4 or less anything bigger I don't think the kitchen can handle the numbers and the sound is a big let down but could be fixed with better speakers and...
