For a local pub it isn't bad, the drinks are reasonably priced and the staff are mostly friendly, however one man can be quite rude (I believe him to be the owner).
The decor inside leaves much to be desired and desperately needs a refurb (invest some money in to this Place and it could do very well for its self).
The garden is full of mismatch furniture, as others have said, benches contain plenty of splinters and some rusty sharp parts so take care when sitting outside. The plastic furniture could do with replacing or at least jet washing.... However the barrel seats are a nice touch and give a good rustic feel and add some character.
The live music can be good, depending on who's Playing and your music preference. It's a shame that no music is offered inside (perhaps consider a jukebox). The outside area has nothing in the way of entertainment for children, unless you count the numerous signs telling children "not to to trample what's rest of the plants".... To be fair we didn't see any plants, none that were so delicate as to be trampled.
Dogs are welcome inside and out which is a nice touch. However no water was available for the dog, partly my fault for not asking as it was busy and we don't live far to take him home For A drink.
The food (pizza) by the "rust bucket" which is out back in the garden is simply amazing! I have to say the two businesses compliment each other for clientele, but if I am honest the pizza is the soul reason I go to the bull. If you like authentic Italian tasting pizza with a fresh dough and a decent sauce then definitely give it a try! The fact the pizza is made fresh in front of you then fired in a wood oven just adds to the knowledge that you are eating something fresh and authentic.
In short:

Jenny is a great landlady, professional, respectful and polite with a no nonsense attitude with a considerate and charming work ethic. Keeps her customers happy, always has time for everyone Thank you Emily (bar staff) for locating my bracelet and Jenny for ensuring it got back to me safely, I didn't even have to ask. You've made me very happy! Wouldn't accept a tip for it, bless them but I kept on and as they were so busy Jenny said I could next time. Staff keep people updated on events and things going on in a relaxed way when people ask as they gather glasses from outside.
Lovely, large beer garden sun trap to relax and socialise catching some rays when the sun is shining. Several new and elegantly classic wooden pod seating with roof's and plenty of sunshades if you prefer the shade. Family friendly, great atmosphere even if you come on your own. Lots of different dogs that come and are treated as well as the customers. Treats are handed out by staff whilst dogs are chillaxing in the garden. Seen some gorgeous breeds in there. Ambience is superb.
All newly decorated, place looks amazing, well done Daniel, decor is top notch and looks classy. Soft astro turf by the beer garden/pub back entrance and eatery area, lots of lush real green grass in the main garden area and tidy. Comfy stools inside and outside with lots of picnic tables and a central larger wooden platform seating area, great seating options indoors too. Very well kempt throughout the whole pub.
Coffee shop opening out the front soon. Drinks are great, cold and refreshing, choice of glasses to suit your preference with some drinks. Food is amazing too, I had the lamb shisha cooked over a charcoal fire with flat bread, chips and salad, (also rice comes with it if preferred,) tasted sublime, a real treat. Heard great reviews from other customers about the fish and chips so I'll try that next time. Live music on Sunday afternoons but not caught that yet, heard they have fab singers.
I highly recommend this pub, it is my main go to now. Very...
Read moreSo this places has some serious potential. If it wants to be bought up to date it needs some slight cosmetic work. Firstly in 2018 what pub in the developing world does not take either debit cards and credit cards? No cash machine exists also within one mile so if you are just passing and want a cold drink after a long walk your basically knackered and obviously thirsty! Not ideal. The pub garden has potential but it is full of battered and seriously beaten up and old plastic furniture. The wooden benches are decaying before your eyes are just about to go back to the ground from which they originated. Splinters, rusty nails and mould do not mix with children let alone food! The rust bucket pizza company has tried to bring the bull shooters hill into 2018 and it has successfully succeeded with wonderful pizza cooked on a log fired ovenproof . It is 5 stars and really does make the pub. However it needs to take contactless payments as soon as possible to keep up with the demand that should come its way if only the landlord of the pub spends a little money to update the surroundings. Spending just a few grand could make this pub a million if only they could just make the effort. Loosing the net curtains would be the first plan of action...go on bull see what you can do for the on going success...
