Omggg I highly recommend the Sunday roast gravy fondue - it's been 2 days and I really want it again! I shared it with another person (see vids) and 2 of my other friends got the cheese fondue (sorry, no vids of that). Both were thick and perfect. Everyone likes different gravy runniness, luckily I had asked for mine to be ultra thick beforehand because Im a control freak and it didn't disappoint, the video does not do it justice, was glossy and sticky, just perfect. The pork belly bites are a forever firm fave for me (ask for apple sauce, you wont be sorry!) And I'm still dreaming about those creamy tasty roasties. The platter that came with the gravy also consisted of bottomless Yorkies, stuffing balls, pigs in blankets, beef bonbons, pork bonbons and roast beef chunks which Im sure you'll agree is plenty, it served 2 of us quite comfortably with some left as we were stuffed. The bon bons are something special. I wont say too much, just get them and see for yourself. The cheese fondue was sooo yummy and rich, if you like strong melted cheese and dunking nibbles into it, that is for you. Came with bread, fennel salami, cornichons and pickled onions (if memory serves right). Divine. Shoutout to Evan for making the perfect extra strong Aperol spritz for me and ultimate compliments to the chefs. Smashed it yet again!

I went there because of all the good reviews. However, I have to say that I am disappointed with it. To start with, their front door does not work properly. You really have to pull it really hard to open the door. The menu is not informative with the gluten free information. There is only one item marked as gluten free on the many. I asked the waiter, he says that is correct. However, I decided to ask another person that was actually helpful in finding out allergies information for me. However, I was let down by the food. The portion is small compared to the price. The starter was cooked and very shewy. The man course was small and very salty. I will not be back anytime soon unless they change the service and the standard of the food. Updated: I thought this place couldn't get worse, but I was wrong. We went there for Sunday Roast. As you can see from the photo, it was like leftovers from last week. Almost no vegetables. The vegetables were chewy and old.

The Depot is a solid pub in South London and one of our go-to spots since we live nearby. It’s right next to Kidbrooke train station, which makes it super easy to get to. There’s plenty of seating both inside and out, so it’s a good pick no matter the weather. The food is seriously good – we’ve been a few times now and the burgers, fish and chips, and chicken wings are always amazing. It’s also a great place to go in just for a drink, with loads of beers, ciders, and other drinks on offer. The staff are really friendly, the place is nicely decorated, and the toilets are clean and easy to access. If you’re driving, there’s an underground car park nearby which makes things easier. They also do a pub quiz on Wednesday nights and show big sporting events like the rugby, which adds to the vibe. Definitely recommend checking it out if you’re in the Kidbrooke area and fancy a proper pub!

First visit for a quick stop as my 6 year old was very hungry after school so we decided to pop in. The pub looks great and the menu also looked quite good. However... Ordered a children's sausage and mash (no prices on the kids menu at all), it arrived and look pretty good but surprisingly it came with sweet potatoes instead of potato mash, so unhappy child. I asked the waitress and she took the plate, it returned with potato mash. My daughter started furiously eating throughout the dish as at this point she was so hungry she could have eaten a car tyre! Close to the end she mentioned that the mash tasted weird, that it was sour, it also smelled sour. It was! I went to see the supervisor, asked her what’s in the mash (she didn’t know so went to ask the chef) after visit in the kitchen she stated that it’s just butter and cream. I told her that it’s sour so she went back to ask the chef, after good 5minutes she came back saying that chef just smelled it and said that it was fine. To that I asked if he had tasted it, the answer was ' not is fine, he said it’s smell fine'. I told her, that wasn't good enough, it gave me very little reassurance that appropriate checks procedures are followed, in stead it felt that their only focus is for the issue to go away instead or investigation the reason. She also told me that ‘no one else complained about it’! Well is that makes this mash right here not being sour???! To my total amazement the supervisor very arrogantly announced 'you have to way two days and see if she get sick'. Shocking! At least a sorry would be good at this point.. After all of this nonsensical conversation, the manager came and had a chat with me, assured me that food samples are taken each morning and all the food is also tasted by the chef when prepared and that he will talk to the chef right away. Offered a refund £8 for the sausages and mash (Mayfair prices in Kidbrooke!) and also refunded my daughter’s juice. He seemed carrying and helpful. So we left and I couldn't to help thinking, was the sweet potato served because he knew that his mash was off? Did he then served his rancid mash, probably because he didn't have any other ready? Fingers crossed this mash won’t ruin my daughter’s belly for the bank...

Good food, but service needs improving. We went for my birthday and had a roast. There were for adults and one toddler, and ordered 4 roasts and a child’s roast. When the food arrived we asked whether the well done beef was the child portion and the server said they didn’t know and let us have it. However when we went to pay, it was down as an adult beef (despite me asking for a child portion and even having a conversation when ordering about whether the child beef should be well done or not). When challenged, the server went to ask his manager who was sitting within earshot, enjoying her own roast, and he came back and said that if it wasn’t sent back, and was eaten then we had to pay. I can see the reasoning but it doesn’t take a genius to realise that a toddler sitting in a high chair doesn’t want an adult portion. It’s also poor customer service to put the responsibility on the guests to actively send the food back, rather than just challenging whether it was a child portion when being served.

The server who took payment did say he could offer a free drink or dessert, but the meal was kind of tainted by that point.

Generally it feels like the staff didn’t care about showing good customer service (although the main server I dealt with was nice) - the people serving our food didn’t care when we asked about it being a child portion, the manager didn’t bother getting up to see if she could help her staff with my query, or just talk to me, a customer. It’s wasn’t too surprising that the place seemed surprisingly empty for that time on a Sunday. It’s a shame, because the food was generally good, although...
