A highly regarded locals local pub in the Surbiton community. "A Warm Welcome" stated on the sign, which rings true the moment you walk through the door. Pool table (bring your change!), dart board, 80's classics on the soundsystem and an IT Box which I don't think I've seen since I left Uni. When I came here previously I sat with my pint of Moretti and heard two blokes describe for well over 20 minutes about how good the run of the table was, stroking it after every shot. Make of that what you will, but we played on it, and it felt pretty pretty, pretty good. Beers on tap are "normal pub" gear. Amstel pours well, Moretti has its own pump so you know it's going to be good, always one real ale on and there's even Brixton on tap (who are now 100% Heineken owned). Sport is shown on TV last I checked, the front garden is a massive sun trap by the river (after the road), no bookings needed, darts league on Thursdays, it's mentioned on WhatPub to be "the most haunted pub in Surbiton", there's psychic events too that look to almost always sell out, coffee mornings and live music. Oh and a lovely log fire to cosy up to. History-wise there's not a lot in the books I've got. It's a traditional coaching house pub that dates back to 1787, and then demolished and moved slightly in 1850. Ownership of the pub now is unclear, possibly Star Pubs(?), but the landlord is a nice fella who's always up for a bit of a chat. It's dog friendly, predominantly an adults pub but kids are welcome, the locals are talkative and good fun, the only pub with a pool table in Surbiton, and you could easily spend a whole afternoon here. Unfortunately pubs like this seem to be a bit of a dying breed, but this one is still here, and I plan to come back. Loved it.

Was very quiet when we visited, however the staff were very friendly. Beer selection wasn't great compared to other pubs in Surbiton.

A nice pub alongside the road by the river in Surbiton. They have a small selection of good beers on tap to choose from. They also have Indian street food on Friday evenings (1800-2100), but it had all gone by 2030 last time so get there early. Am told on good authority the food is great and the prices looked very fair too.

Inside thereโ€™s darts and pool too, so well worth a visit if nearby. The outside space is pleasant too and staff are...
