Lovely little Italian restaurant in Surbiton. Despite arriving early to try and get a table, the place has a really good vibe and not to mention good food. (Place was fully booked but accepted walk in entries if there was last minute availability) Menu consists of starters, pizza choices, pasta dishes, specials and desserts. There are gluten free pasta and pizza base available, these are not made on the premises and is made by a separate company. There is a small additional charge for this. Pizza is made fresh in their impressively large pizza oven located in the restaurant. We were sat at the bar area around this pizza oven and it was lovely to see the pizza masters doing their thing with stretching the pizza dough. Great selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks too. The place was clean and staff friendly and helpful. Will return.

I went there for dinner with some friends and we tried a wide range of meals. We had several starters, broccoli, fried calamari and carpaccio and everything was extremely good. We then had pizza and main courses and again everything was so good. I tried the carbonara with nduja that my boyfriend choose and was really tasty. I had spaghetti al nero di seppia with mussels and calamari and it was one of the best pasta I had in London. Desserts as well were amazing, we had Tiramisù, torta della nonna and torta Ferrero Rocher. Definitely recommended and it's not even expensive considered the high quality service.

I recently dined at a small Italian restaurant where the squid was the highlight—perfectly cooked and flavourful. The pasta was good, though not outstanding, and the pizza fell short of expectations. Service was friendly but a bit disorganised. Despite not being busy, the server asked us to repeat our order and brought the wrong drink. The restaurant is also quite small, with tables uncomfortably close together. While the food was enjoyable, the tight space and service hiccups didn’t fully justify the higher prices. Overall, a decent experience but room for improvement.

Knowing that Cento Uno is a sister restaurant to its neighbouring No. 97, we had a high level of expectation when we ate at the restaurant. I'm happy to report that the dining experience matches that of No. 97 and One One Four (the Teddington restaurant that is part of the same collective).

Firstly, let's talk about the menu. Zero compromise on the authenticity and quality of dishes. My wife and I sat at the counter and had a good spot to watch the chefs in action. The pizzas here are PROPER pizzas... White base, tomato base, nduja, smoked ham... The real deal. Absolutely devine. I had the Diavola which was cooked to perfection.

My wife opted for a pasta dish with the Carbonara. I was happy to see that they never used any cream and just used egg yolks to make the sauce. And yes, it was a work of art. Seriously great Carbonara.

The aperetivi cocktail selection is short but well worth exploring. I recommend the Negroni.

To end the meal, instead of going for something off the dessert menu, I went for their authentic affogato (coffee poured over vanilla ice-cream) and was not disappointed.

Can't recommended this place enough. It's hard to get a table there without booking in advance but that comes as no surprise when you consider the high standard of service and the quality of the food here.

Finally, a word about the staff here... You know you're in safe hands when you meet the team of front of house staff. Polite, knowledgeable, friendly.

If you do get the chance, I'd recommended sitting at the counter.

Can't wait for...

Our group was genuinely disappointed by our experience at Cento Uno. We read the reviews, we made the decision and we drove out of our way to try out this "hot and happening" place. The serving staff and aesthetics of the place were lovely. The food was mediocre at best. The 2 Pizzas ordered were oily to the point of being near inedible. Now don't get me wrong, I ate every bite of mine, but only because the portion sizes were insufficient to fill a Doormouse and allowing the slices to drip onto the plate for a minute cured some of the oil issue. Other dishes were ordered! There was a nduja sausage pasta that had barely a speck of flavour and a seafood pasta that was tepid and somehow overcooked. I'm sorry, but it really wasn't worth the trip. Better off picking up a Taste the difference ready meal. 5 stars for the staff and the aesthetic, 0 for the food. 2 for the failing at the one thing an "authentic" Italian...

Stay away!! I had pizza in so many places including IT but this was very bad. We ordered 2 different types of pizza. The though and the souce was separated from each other, no nice taste to it. Though was white and non-tasty. The waiter was not really kidn and attentive. He couldn't even botherred to say thank you when we paid. I moved to the area recently and wanted to see why this place is always busy but I don't think the reason is food. Becuase, it's got a nice corner location on Maple Road next to No97 and serves alchol. Otherwise, everything is poor. The toilets are dirty which is just behind the pizza counter where also the floor & counter is dirty. I am suprised their hygine raiting is 5!! I wonder howlong this review will stay at the top as it looks like all reviews are 5 star and from months ago! If you want good pizza, go to the The Black Lion Surbiton pub!! They are even sourdough, taste and...
