A Hidden gem. Really enjoyed the evening here. The place looks small but has a nice dining area downstairs with a nice dining atmosphere and subtle music/beats as the day turned to night. Service was brilliant, felt welcomed as soon as walked in and attended to during dinner. We enjoyed cocktails and wine. Was not overly impressed with the Bruschetta but all dishes were very well presented with decent portion sizes. Was not blown away by the main dishes but still good value and portions. Pappardelle Brasato: I expected a deeper slow cooked flavour in the sauce Paccheri Cod & Guanciale: Enjoyable enough, cod did not seem fresh or was maybe a little overcooked Dessert and espresso coffee to finish were delightful.
The location is slightly away from main West Norwood high st but still very easily accessible close to train station and bus stops heading to Brixton direction.
Sorry to score only 3/5 for food, but your place did leave us wanting to come back and try the rest of the menu. Will return and write up a better score...
Read moreI have been to The Garden many times and recommend it as the best place to eat in West Norwood for sure. I would give less stars but the food is great. However I have been compelled to leave a review as the service we got the last time I visited was by far the worst I have had for a long time. Perhaps she was having a bad day but it was so so upsetting, we ordered sides which arrived when we had finished our mains, I think she never gave our order. These were left off our bill but we would have loved to have them with our pasta but no. It's a real shame but we all felt uncomfortable and certainly could not return. If the review was for food only I would give 5 stars but the service was so bad so I can only...
Read moreI've been at the Garden both for lunch and dinner.
Staff is friendly, it feels like you're a friend or family of them.
The atmosphere is pretty chilled, good music, really clean and warm.
The owners have always a warm welcome for every customer.
Staff is pretty professional and really skilled.
At lunch I've ordered some starters and gnocchi, the texture and flavors made me feel like in Italy.
I was so happy with the service and food and I decided to come back for dinner as well.
At the entrance I've been recognised and welcomed inside, the barman suggested me an amazing cocktail, smoky love and then I've ordered dinner a nice pizza.
I really suggest pizza at the Garden as it is the best pizza I had in London so far and I'm from Napoli, the place where pizza was born :)
Definitely an amazing experience, I'll definitely will go back on my next trip to...
