I went here with a friend and her parents on a Tuesday night. They had a special on, which quite frankly I don't know how they make any money on, 2 courses with sides £10. The amazing thing about this is though, the food did not suffer nor the service. It was all really darn good. Be it the butterfly prawns, the tikka chicken, somosas, for starters, all of it was of a standard I would have expected to pay a lot more for. Even when you look on the menu though, the full price of the starters and mains are reasonably priced indeed. The poppadoms were cooked perfected and not one chewy edge in sight. When we had demolished the bowls of accompaniments, they just refilled without asking. The drinks were served and when running low, but not to hinder us having our meal in private, they came and asked if we wanted re-fills. Now the mains, well, they were so yummy, everyone swapped a bit around, so that we could all taste what the other person had ordered and they were all so good. The rice was cooked to a awesome standard and not clumpy or stuck together in parts. The flavours were distinctive bold. The quality of the meat in the food was excellent, I didn't think I was chewing on a cats bottom at any point! I was done for about half way through as had way too many poppadoms, and a starter, but in true LM fashion, when food is this good, I just kept on ploughing through it. I know it is the place of choice for my friend's parents and I can clearly see why. The service was brilliant, food of an exceptional quality. Although I live a good 35/40 minutes away, it will be worth sacrificing having a lager with my curry to come...
Read moreStaying in Edmonton Green for work and recommended to come here for dinner, so took an Uber. Impressed by the reviews but sadly less so by the experience.
Staff were most definitely not overly friendly to first time visitors, despite our positive efforts to encourage it.
My King Prawn Butterfly was heavy on breadcrumbs and short on prawn. My Lamb Pasanda was too sweet, and tasted like the meat had been cooked separately and introduced to the sauce in the last few minutes - no infusion of herbs or spices and very disappointing.
Maybe it was my poor choice of dishes or, more likely, I’m spoiled by better Bangladeshi restaurants closer to home. Reviews are always personal and relative, but for the price I’d say this 3-star review is...
Read moreSo disappointed with The Grange. As regular customers, we had a really bad experience last friday - after waiting hours for our home delivery the food was really poor/bland/tasteless. They told us our next order would be on the house but when we called this evening, they refused to keep to their word. Very rude. I will never order from them again. This restaurant used to be really good quality - although more expensive than other locals, the food was good. The standard has dropped as we've noticed poor quality food. Not recommended if you want...
