Gotta update my previously outstanding review. Seems they are under new management and/or chef but my food today was awful. Such a shame as the two previous incarnations here have been amazing. I tried the falafel sandwich. The falafel was burnt. I was told by the staff that this is how they made falafel and made to feel like it was my fault that I didn't like burnt food. It's not...if you are going to sell burnt falafel, at least spell it out on the menu please. Side note, falafel was also bland and flavourless (other than the burnt bits, of course). And I notice the falafel pic online is not burnt! You lied to me lady! They exchanged for avo on toasted sourdough. I would have accepted the bland avo so as not to ruin my already ruined lunch (with a long lost friend) but it was on thin sourdough dripping in flavourless, probs sunflower or veg oil, from being "toasted" on the grill. It wasn't toasted...it was clearly soaked in tepid oil then served up. I'll give two stars because I'm hoping it was a bad day...but please know it's not me...it's definitely you. Even my normally-mortified-at-making-a-fuss friend could not stomach the food that I received. Good luck, I wish you all the best and hope you take on this feedback but please know that my experience today was terrible and the food was awful.

Eat,Play, Smile... not that much order of 2 lattes one with oat milk both of them just warm that I was asked if I wanted regular or large. I ask to see the sizes and I go for large ones which I would have called medium. I'm told to go to the side and wait for my coffee to be ready as so I got 2 cups of different size one so called large and the regular I would call small. I mentioned that I was expecting 2 larges. So the counter girl told her boss who grabbed her card reader and charged me 40 pence for a mistake she did her self. So I said in hospitality the manners are all. A good manager on that case would have told the staff that mistakes happen and not to bother with it and just make the swap it's not the end of the world. I haven't been back to that place for the 2 last years that last time did not go that smoothly either and it will be quite a lot of time before I return there again. But look at it to the manager side she got 40 pences more on the spread sheet. Anyway also if you go there do not wait by the side where you will learn later they will give you your coffee there. No one will pay attention to you even if there is no one order in the making just go by the till near the card reader and you will see it's kind of immediate you will acknowledge.

The Hub Café is a real gem in Victoria Park. Their oat chai lattes are some of the best I’ve had – perfectly spiced, smooth and comforting – and they pair so well with the freshly baked bacon and cheese croissants, which are warm, flaky and full of flavour. The menu has something for everyone, with lots of homemade products that feel thoughtful and carefully prepared. The café itself is welcoming and versatile, with a cosy indoor space for cooler days and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the park views when the sun is shining. It’s also very family- and baby-friendly, which makes it such an easy and enjoyable place to visit for everyone. On top of that, the staff are always friendly, attentive and genuinely add to the relaxed, positive atmosphere. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee, a leisurely breakfast, or a catch-up with friends, The Hub Café offers great food, great coffee and a lovely setting right in the heart of the park.

I wanted my husbands 75th Birthday to be very special; I decided to surprise him with a family get together near the place where he was born, grew up and always talked about it with affection. Victoria park came to mind as the best option. As we live near the south coast, I decided to visit the park to find the most suitable place. After lots of walking and enquiring, I came across the Hub, although I wasn’t sure if they would cater for a large number of people, I approached them and in spite of the place being so busy the manager took the time to find out what I wanted and was open to provide the service. The communication and the booking with Draga the manager was prompt and professional. She was confident and willing to provide a service to make my husband’s birthday very especial. I was delighted to hear the food at the Hub is locally sourced and freshly prepared too. The play area was just perfect as we had children coming as well. On the day I could not have asked for a better service, food was delicious and well presented, the service was second to none, the staff were accommodating looked after us very well and were absolutely marvellous. My husband’s Birthday was very especial as I wished and all the family enjoyed the experience at the Hub and no doubt will be back in the future. I couldn’t recommend the Hub highly...
